In the episode, Akshay Kumar was visibly upset after a contestant from the Northeast opened up about the prejudice she had encountered in Mumbai. She revealed that due to her facial features, she was often mocked and told to “go to China,” with some even blaming her for spreading COVID-19.
Following the interaction, Akshay Kumar invited his Manipur-based makeup artist Kin onto the stage to shed more light on the issue.

Introducing him to the audience, the actor said, “There is a boy with me, who does my makeup and takes care of me. He is here, Kin.” Kin then spoke about the stereotyping he has faced because of his roots, revealing that people frequently used racist slurs such as “Chinese,” “Chinky,” and “Momo” while addressing him.
The revelations left Akshay Kumar visibly disturbed, prompting him to strongly condemn racism and discriminatory behaviour.
“Today, after listening to Kin, I am convinced that these things happen. I want to tell all the people of India that there is discrimination against the people of the Northeast. They are all Indians. They are as much Indians as I am, you are, and the people sitting here,” he said.
The actor also highlighted the contributions made by people from the Northeast, particularly in the Indian Army. Referring to the Naga Regiment, he mentioned their role in major conflicts such as the Kargil War and the Bangladesh War, stating, “They have given their blood. They are Indians, remember this.”
Akshay Kumar has returned to television after nearly a decade as the host of Sony TV’s reality show ‘Wheel of Fortune’, the Indian adaptation of the globally popular game show format. The show, which premiered on Sony TV and SonyLIV on January 27, features contestants spinning a giant wheel to earn prize money before solving word puzzles by guessing letters.
Meanwhile, on the film front, Akshay will next be seen in Priyadarshan’s ‘Bhooth Bangla’, alongside Paresh Rawal and Wamiqa Gabbi.
Initially slated for release on May 15, 2026, the horror comedy will now arrive in theatres earlier, on April 10. He also has ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ and ‘Haiwaan’ in the pipeline.
