Mrunal Thakur shared a delightful, candid photo dump.

Indian actress Mrunal Thakur has done what she does best on Instagram – skipped the polished single frame and dropped an entire mood board instead. The actress posted a multi-slide carousel with the caption “Leo baby!” – the zodiac emoji doing most of the talking – tagged to Mumbai, Maharashtra. Within 14 minutes of going up, the post had already crossed 48.5K likes, with the comments section filling up fast. The dump opened on its softest note. Mrunal sat in a crisp white shirt with her eyes shut and hands folded under her chin and tilak on her forehead, in front of a framed Pichwai artwork of Shrinathji.

In front of her: two chocolate cakes, one topped with a lit “Happy Birthday” cake topper, a cluster of tealights, and a fat bunch of sunflowers in a jute basket.

From there the carousel scattered, and that was the fun of it. There was a black-and-white puppy being lifted up towards a cloud-streaked sky by Mrunal in a blue shirt, both of them looking straight up. There was a friend in a light denim jacket grinning over an iced coffee at a café. There was a gym mirror selfie – Mrunal in an all-black Adidas crop tank and track pants, bright orange iPhone, standing beside her trainer with a dumbbell rack in the foreground, proof that the fitness routine had not been abandoned.

Then came the slides that made the dump feel like a diary rather than a feed. A giant bunch of fresh curry leaves held up against the monsoon sky, her face peeking in from the corner in a green kurta. The curry leaf tree itself, berries and all, shot from below. A no-makeup selfie taken lying flat on a wooden floor in a white tank, hair fanned out. A warmly lit indoor selfie in a black shirt, gold moon-and-star chain and a stack of dainty bracelets.

There was work in there too. Two frames took fans behind the scenes of what looked like a beauty campaign shoot: a monitor playing back Mrunal in a powder-blue one-shoulder dress, fingers pressed to her cheeks mid-smile, while the crew crowded around it, and a beaming team member leaning in beside a huge beauty dish light. A moody, deliberately motion-blurred portrait in a cream coat against a deep blue backdrop suggested another editorial set.

The rest was pure atmosphere – a plate of mango sticky rice under a red lampshade, a selfie with two friends and a sunflower bouquet at a Spotify event, a hazy sunset with the sun slipping between rows of streetlights, a video clip of her ghungroo-clad feet in a dance studio, and finally, an aeroplane window framing a thin orange band of dusk.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Mrunal recently featured alongside Varun Dhawan and Pooja Hegde in ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’. The movie, directed by David Dhawan, made Rs 74 crore worldwide.

Up next, she will feature in Atlee’s high-octane sci-fi spectacle ‘Raaka’ alongside Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone.
