For a gala in New York, Pooja Hegde turned to designer Arpita Mehta, wearing a striking red Bandhani saree that gave the traditional drape a contemporary makeover. Taking to Instagram, Pooja Hegde shared breathtaking photos of herself in the red saree.

The vivid red fabric was densely covered in intricate gold sequins and delicate kodi detailing, creating geometric Bandhani-inspired patterns that shimmered from practically every angle. Rather than a conventional blouse, the saree was paired with a structured strapless corset, featuring a sweetheart-style plunging neckline, fitted bodice and sculpted boning that accentuated her frame. At the back, the corset revealed a lace-up criss-cross closure, while the saree’s pallu swept dramatically over one shoulder.

There were plenty of details to discover beyond the sparkle. The waist was punctuated with dangling gold coin and kodi accents, adding a bohemian touch to the look. The fitted draping through the hips flowed into a floor-grazing hem, while the long embellished pallu created a dramatic contrast to the corset’s sharply defined silhouette. The result cleverly brought together two distinct moods: the craft-led appeal of Bandhani and the sultry structure of modern corsetry.
Accessories stayed rooted in the outfit's warm gold palette. Pooja Hegde chose oversized ornate gold statement earrings, stacked an assortment of gold, black and green-toned bangles and bracelets on her wrists, rather than introducing a necklace that might compete with the corset neckline.
Her beauty look provided the perfect softer counterpoint. Pooja's shoulder-length dark hair was styled into a tousled, side-parted wavy bob, giving the heavily embellished saree a relaxed finish. Her makeup centred on luminous skin, softly sculpted cheeks, defined brows and subtly smoky, lined eyes framed by fluttery lashes. A warm muted pink lip and a gentle wash of blush completed the look.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Pooja Hegde was last seen alongside Vijay in ‘Jana Nayagan’. Co-starring Mamitha Baiju and Bobby Deol, the film was slated for a January 9 theatrical release but was stalled due to a delay by Central Board of Film Certification. It finally arrived in theatres on July 23.
Before this, she was seen in David Dhawan’s ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’. The movie, co-starring Varun Dhawan and Mrunal Thakur, released in theatres on June 5.
Pooja Hegde will be next seen in ‘Kanchana 4’, co-starring Raghava Lawrence and Nora Fatehi.
