Here are some of the fan reactions:

'Awarapan 2' showcases Shivam still struggling to come to terms with the loss of Aaliyah, the defining tragedy of his past. The film's screenplay was written by Bilal Siddiqui, while Vishesh Bhatt produced the project. Mukesh Bhatt presents the film under the Vishesh Films banner.

With Emraan Hashmi returning to a role that has retained a strong cult following over the years, 'Awarapan 2' carries considerable expectations. The sequel now attempts to build on that legacy while giving Shivam Pandit a new chapter, one driven by guilt, redemption, danger and an unexpected emotional connection.

It is worth noting that 'Awaparan' was a box-office flop when it was released in theatres in 2007. However, in the following years, the film managed to achieve cult status, leading to a sequel.

'Awarapan 2' sold more than 2 lakh tickets for the opening day, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. As of 3:05 PM on Friday, the Emraan Hashmi-starrer already collected Rs 6.65 crore on the opening day, and the film is poised to become the biggest solo opener in the actor's career.

The film is outperforming 'Batwara 1947', starring Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta and Shabana Azmi. As of 3:05 PM, the Rajkumar Santoshi-directorial earned Rs 1.42 crore in India.
