Both 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' and 'Maidaan' witnessed a massive dip in collections on Friday.

'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' and 'Maidaan' were released in cinemas during Eid 2024. Hopes were high for both the films and fans were expecting to see two box office hits from Bollywood. However, both films continue to underperform at the box office, and the second day of their release showcases a sad trend. Both the movies are in desperate need of a massive box office jump on Saturday if they are to emerge as a success story.

As per industry tracker Sacnilk, 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan', directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, minted Rs 7 crore on Friday, the second day of its release. The two-day collection now stands at Rs 22.65 crore in India.

Akshay Kumar's 'Samrat Prithviraj', one of the biggest flops of 2022, also collected more money on the first two days of its release than 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan'. 'Samrat Prithviraj' had made Rs 23.3 crore in India during its first two days whereas 'BMCM' has just made Rs 22.65 crore in the first two days.

Speaking of Akshay Kumar, the actor has not been having a good time at the box office. He has witnessed a string of flops since 2022 with films like 'Samrat Prithviraj', 'Raksha Bandhan', 'Bachchhan Paandey', 'Selfiee', and 'Mission Raniganj'.

On the other hand, Ajay Devgn's 'Maidaan', backed by Boney Kapoor, collected Rs 2.75 crore on Friday, the second day of its release. The two-day nett domestic collection now stands at Rs 9.85 crore.

'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' had an overall 15.54 per cent Hindi occupancy on Friday. On the other hand, 'Maidaan' had an overall 8.81 per cent Hindi occupancy on Friday, the second day of its release.

For the unversed, 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' has been panned by the critics and it looks difficult that the film will be able to recover its reported budget of Rs 350 crore. On the other hand, 'Maidaan' has opened to favourable reviews, but it is fair to say that the reviews have not translated into a respectable box office collection.

Talking about 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan', the Ali Abbas Zafar-directorial also stars Alaya F, Manushi Chillar, Ronit Roy, Sonakshi Sinha, and Prithviraj Sukumaran.

On the other hand, 'Maidaan' has been directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma. The new Hindi film also stars Priyamani and Gajraj Rao. For the unversed, 'Maidaan' is based on the life of Syed Abdul Rahim, who is regarded as the architect of modern Indian football.
