The much-anticipated ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups’, starring Yash and directed by Geetu Mohandas, has finally hit theatres. But it seems the real fairy tale might just be the hilarious memes flooding social media. Released across all South Indian languages and Hindi, the film opened to a staggering Rs 140 crore worldwide collection. Yet, despite the massive box office numbers, the critical and audience response has been decidedly lukewarm, sparking a viral wave of internet comedy.

One of the most recurring themes in this digital meme fest is the audience’s desperate urge to "escape" the theatre. In a brilliant stroke of irony, netizens dug up an old clip of Yash speaking at Comic-Con San Diego.
The meme features the star saying, “I'm sure when they're coming out of the theatre they'll be like, bro, and they'll say, what the hell was that?” The clip was paired with footage of a frantic moviegoer trying to break a gate lock to flee the cinema, all while the intense track ‘Tabaahi’ plays in the background.
