Amid ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ And ‘Maidaan’ Release, Here's Proof Why Only Salman Khan Rules Eid
‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ and ‘Maidaan’ released in theatres on Eid 2024 but there is only one man that has ruled the roost on this occasion.

Over the years, many Bollywood stars and directors aimed to have their films released on festivals. Several actors have also managed to slot their films for an Eid, Diwali, Holi or Christmas release and, received an overwhelming response by getting crowds in larger numbers. Since the 1990s, Bollywood’s Eid connection has only gotten stronger with each and every year. And it is safe to say that no one can beat Salman Khan when it comes to box office hits on Eid.
Salman Khan’s love affair with Eid started in 1997 with ‘Judwaa’. Yes, you read that right! Helmed by David Dhawan, the 1997 Hindi movie starred Karisma Kapoor and Rambha as the female leads opposite Salman Khan who appeared in a double role. The film, which opened to Rs 0.76 crore in India, made over Rs 13 crore domestically and earned over Rs 23 crore globally.
Then came, Salman Khan’s second Eid release in the form of the 2009 Hindi movie ‘Wanted’, directed by Prabhu Deva. The Hindi movie, a remake of the Telugu film ‘Pokiri’, opened to Rs 5.15 crore in India. ‘Wanted’, which made Rs 60.65 crore in India and grossed over Rs 87 crore worldwide, marked a significant turn in Salman Khan's career, setting the tone for his future action-packed blockbusters.
While Salman Khan has delivered a string of hits on Eid, this year is a little different. This year, Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn released their movies on the occasion of Eid. Akshay Kumar came out ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ and Ajay Devgn treated fans to ‘Maidaan’.
