“You Are Not Alone”: Sonu Sood Reaches Flood-Hit Nepal, Pledges Support For Victims

Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has travelled to flood-ravaged Nepal to meet people affected by the devastating natural disaster and extend support to ongoing relief efforts. The actor shared glimpses of his visit on social media, where he was seen interacting with people impacted by the floods. His presence has drawn appreciation from fans, with many praising Sonu Sood for personally reaching out to communities facing an extremely difficult period. Sharing photographs from Nepal on Instagram, Sonu Sood spoke about the scale of the tragedy and promised to help affected families rebuild their lives.

The Bollywood actor acknowledged that many victims had lost far more than their homes, with families and years of memories also swept away in the disaster. “They lost their homes, their families, their childhood…but together, we will help them find a new beginning. Nepal, you are not alone,” he wrote on Instagram.

He later shared another post on Instagram, detailing his efforts in helping the flood victims.
Speaking to ANI, Sonu Sood explained that he had travelled with relief supplies from India, including blankets and food. He said his immediate priority was to understand what survivors needed most and ensure that assistance reached them.

The Bollywood actor also stressed that relief work cannot stop after the initial response to a disaster. According to Sonu Sood, efforts will continue in the coming months, with additional supplies being arranged from India based on the requirements on the ground.
“We are here to meet the victims of the flood. We got lots of stuff from India. We just want to be with the people who are in need and will try to bring their lives back (on track), I think it's everyone's duty to do their part. We have a lot of blankets and food materials. We are still asking them what they need; we try to send it from India. Sending from India to Nepal is always a little challenge because we need a lot of people. But we will make sure that not only this month but also in thecoming months, the relief keeps coming,” he told the news agency.
Sonu Sood's visit comes as Nepal continues to deal with the devastating consequences of the floods and flash floods that struck several parts of the country on August 26. Rescue and recovery operations remain underway in affected districts, including Rasuwa and Nuwakot.
The tragedy has also prompted other Bollywood personalities with links to Nepal to appeal for greater assistance. Actress Manisha Koirala has urged the international community to come forward and support the country, while Sunita Ahuja, wife of actor Govinda, described Nepal as her ‘Matrabhoomi’ and called on the Hindi film industry to extend its support to flood victims.
The scale of the disaster remains staggering. Figures released by Nepal's National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority indicate that 939 people have lost their lives, while 3,925 remain missing. The missing include 592 foreign nationals.
Authorities continue to conduct rescue operations in several areas as families search for missing relatives and communities begin the difficult process of rebuilding.
The Indian Embassy in Nepal has also issued details concerning procedures to help identify the mortal remains of Indian citizens who lost their lives in the disaster.
