Lokesh Kanagaraj Meets Tamil Nadu CM Vijay, Fans Demand ‘Leo’ Sequel
Lokesh Kanagaraj and Vijay have worked together in ‘Leo’ and ‘Master’. Both were major box office hits.
Thalapathy Vijay became the toast of the town after taking oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. In the very first few days of his tenure, the actor-turned-politician moved swiftly to offer relief to the film industry by allowing theatres across the state to screen five shows per day during a movie’s first week of release, excluding festival periods and special occasions. Amid these developments, Vijay also held meetings with several directors and producers from the industry. Now, filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj has offered fans a glimpse into one such interaction by sharing a picture with Vijay on social media.

In the picture shared on X, Lokesh can be seen standing alongside Vijay, and the duo is all smiles. "Honourable Chief Minister @CMOTamilnadu (red heart emoticons) Congratulations Anna," Lokesh wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

The image has now gone viral on social media and the fans are asking the duo to collaborate for a new project.
"If this was in 2024, I would have imagined a Leo 2 announcement pic… but God has a different plan," wrote one user.
Another user commented, "I'm so glad you got to meet director Lokesh Kanagaraj. I want to see another movie from your duo's collaboration. Leo 2? Thank you for Leo and Master."
"Did you ask about the Leo sequel? Wish that was the last film you did with him!” “Should have done the Leo sequel anna," wrote one user.
"Best picture on the internet," commented one user.
Speaking of Vijay and Lokesh, the duo has collaborated on two projects – 'Master' (2021) and 'Leo' (2023). Both films turned out to be massive box office hits.
Coming back to Vijay, he joined the league of iconic actor-turned-CMs of Tamil Nadu like MG Ramachandran and J Jayalalithaa. His party, TVK, outclassed both Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), in the assembly elections.
'Jana Nayagan' has been billed as the final film of Vijay. It was set for release in theatres on January 9, but was delayed after CBFC did not certify it in time. The film also stars Mamitha Baiju, Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol. A new, official release date is awaited.
