Heading into the 'Succession' finale, the question on everybody's minds was who will succeed Logan Roy (Brian Cox) as the head of Waystar Royco? Will it be Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Roman (Kieran Culkin), Shiv (Sarah Snook) or the underdog Cousin Greg (Nicholas Braun). Heading into the Season 4 finale, many fan theories were rooting for Cousin Greg to tilt the balance in his favour? The 'Succession' finale dropped in India on Monday morning, and boy oh boy, did the finale live up to the hype. The last episode titled 'With Open Eyes' had a run-time of 1 hour and 25 minutes and every second was worth it.
So, who actually succeeds Logan Roy in the show? Well, spoiler alert! It is Tom (Matthew Macfadyen), who walks away as the new CEO of Waystar Royco.
“Shiv, you should probably know: it’s me," Tom said in one of the scenes in the finale.
In the dying minutes of the episode, Shiv gets cold feet and she decides to not support Kendall in his bid to become the CEO. And hence, Tom walks away as the big winner.
The final image of the series had Kendall Roy walking through a park, being completely dejected.
As soon as the episode dropped, fans took to Twitter to express their feelings. Topics like Succession, Succession finale, Tom CEO, Kendall are all trending on Twitter.
Here are some of the reactions:
roman saying that kendall kids aren’t even his is fucking low even for him, that’s why logan was thinking there was something wrong with him…he was infertile and couldn’t keep bloodline going #succession pic.twitter.com/hcWxEE1Dzm

It's easy to say that everybody lost, but when the dust settles, Roman will be the most fine. Kendall had it right: he didn't want it; he only wanted it because his father set that expectation in his abuse cycle. That smile is the tell. He is free (and filthy rich). #Succession pic.twitter.com/JzZBF2jU57

The #Succession ending was brilliant. We’ve seen glimpses of the siblings love but in the end they would rather screw each other than let the other win. Roman is the exception. Seeing Kendall beg only 4 Shiv 2 give the crown 2 the man who’s betrayed her over & over. Wild ride. pic.twitter.com/dSySok22dH

Kendall was told he couldn’t be CEO because he wasn’t a killer and then because he was pic.twitter.com/TYYOBdykqK
Kendall deliberately making Roman’s stitches to rupture, making it look like an act of kindness at first, was one of the most scariest, heart wrenching and fucked up scenes out of the whole show for me. Made my skin crawl. Just awful. #Succession pic.twitter.com/ZImtoaW9TB
