Supreme Court has asked the makers to add disclaimer to 'The Kerala Story'.

The Supreme Court on Thursday ordered the makers of Adah Sharma-starrer 'The Kerala Story' to add a disclaimer stating that the new Hindi movie tells a "fictionalised" account of events and there is no official data to back the claim of 32,000 women in Kerala being forcefully converted into Islam and joining the ISIS terror group. As per a tweet shared by Live Law, the Supreme Court has asked the producers to mention two things in their disclaimer.

These two things are -- "there is no authentic data to back up the suggestion that the figure of converted people is 32,000 or any other figure," and "the film represents a fictionalised version of subject matter."

As per NDTV, the Supreme Court has also stayed West Bengal government's decision to ban the new Hindi movie in the state.

The top court also said that the state government has to maintain law and order as the film has been granted certification by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Talking about 'The Kerala Story', the new Hindi movie has collected more than Rs 164 crore since its release.

The new Hindi movie is expected to cross Rs 200 crore by the coming weekend.

While the new Bollywood movie is performing well at the domestic box office, it continues to remain controversial as several people have hit out at its subject matter.

However, veteran actress Shabana Azmi recently tweeted on the matter, saying once a movie has been passed by CBFC, it should not be banned.

'The Kerala Story' has been directed by Sudipto Sen, while it is bankrolled by Vipul Amrutlal Shah.
