Badshah Drops New Song ‘Chimna’ Amid Divorce Announcement With Isha Rikhi

August 31, 2026, proved to be a whirlwind day for rapper Badshah, marked by significant developments in both his personal and professional life. Just hours after confirming his separation from Punjabi actress Isha Rikhi, ending their brief five-month marriage, the musician released his highly anticipated first Marathi hip-hop track, ‘Chimna’. The news of the split came late Monday night, with both Badshah and Isha Rikhi taking to their respective Instagram Stories to share identical, carefully worded statements.

The couple, whose secret March 2026 wedding was only revealed publicly by Isha's mother, wrote, “I and Isha Rikhi have mutually decided to part ways and move forward on our separate paths. This decision has been made with mutual respect, and we request everyone to kindly respect our privacy during this time.”
Emphasising their desire to avoid further gossip, the statement firmly concluded, “This will be our only statement on the matter. We sincerely request that there be no further speculation or assumptions regarding our relationship.”

The announcement follows weeks of swirling rumours regarding turbulence in the marriage. Trouble seemingly began brewing in July when Isha Rikhi shared a cryptic post, hinting at hidden struggles, writing, “There are battles that leave no visible scars. For a long time, I remained silent because I was afraid. I felt overwhelmed by the influence, power, and resources I believed my husband had, and I convinced myself that staying quiet was the safest thing to do.”
Her mother also shared pointed messages about karma around the same time. The couple had reportedly been dating since meeting at a mutual friend's party in 2021 before their secret nuptials earlier this year. This marks the end of Badshah’s second marriage, having previously been married to Jasmine Masih until their divorce in 2020.
Despite the personal upheaval, Badshah’s professional endeavours continued unabated. The release of ‘Chimna’ represents a new creative frontier for the artist. The song is a vibrant fusion of his signature hip-hop style with the earthy, traditional sounds of Maharashtrian folk music.
Speaking about his debut in the Marathi music scene, Badshah expressed his enthusiasm to Hindustan Times, stating, “India’s regional music is a goldmine and I want to celebrate every corner of it. ‘Chimna’ is my love letter to Maharashtra’s rich creative canvas. I am incredibly grateful for how this project turned out, and this one’s dedicated to all my day one Maharashtrian fans!”
The track features the vocal talents of playback singer Divya Kumar and Marathi folk artist Nagesh Morwekar, with a special appearance by Marathi actress Neha Khan. Shot in Kolhapur, the music video serves as a visual tribute to Maharashtra, capturing the local essence through scenes of lively wedding processions, mud wrestlers in a traditional akhada, and the energy of daily wage workers, ensuring the project remains deeply rooted in the state's cultural spirit.
