Watch: Ranveer Singh Surprises Shreya Ghoshal As He Unleashes His “Chatpati Side”, Sings ‘Latoo’
Ranveer Singh revealed that ‘Latoo’ sung by Shreya Ghoshal is his guilty pleasure and sang it with the singer at NMACC gala.
Ranveer Singh is widely recognized as the ultimate livewire of Bollywood, but his recent appearance at the third-anniversary celebration of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) proved that his talents extend far beyond the silver screen. The actor, who is currently basking in the unprecedented success of his latest outing ‘Dhurandhar 2’, became the talk of the town after a series of viral videos captured a delightful and unexpected musical interaction with melody queen Shreya Ghoshal.
The highlight of the star-studded evening occurred when Shreya Ghoshal took to social media to share a glimpse of their fun-filled camaraderie. In the video, Ranveer is seen diving into his musical “guilty pleasures,” specifically highlighting a track that rarely makes it onto Shreya’s concert setlists but holds a special place in his heart.
Ranveer confessed, “There's a song that never makes it to her playlist but is my personal guilty pleasure. And the first time I expressed this to her, she said, 'you know what, even I love that song'.”
The song in question turned out to be the high-energy track ‘Latoo’ from the 2008 blockbuster ‘Ghajini’. Composed by the legendary AR Rahman with lyrics by Prasoon Joshi, the song originally featured the late Jiah Khan and was voiced by Shreya Ghoshal and Pravin Mani.

Shreya was visibly stunned by Ranveer’s deep-cut knowledge of her discography, praising his refined music sense. "It's a very rare song, not many people know it, but he does," she remarked in the video. "Every song he knows by heart. What are you made up of?"
The duo didn't stop at just talking; they broke into an impromptu live rendition of the track. Ranveer’s fun side was on full display as he vibed and sang along, prompting Shreya to join in before the two collapsed into laughter.
Comments sections were flooded with monikers like "Pookie Dhurandhar" and "Chatpata Ranveer," with one fan aptly noting, "This man is more chatpata than chaat masala." Another comment read, “Love his chatpati side.”
This light-hearted moment comes at a time when Ranveer is dominating the Indian film industry like never before. His recent release ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ has rewritten box office history. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the spy thriller has achieved the monumental feat of crossing the Rs 1,000 crore net mark in India in just three weeks. Its global performance is equally staggering, with the film grossing over Rs 1,500 crore worldwide.
The film's dream run is supported by a powerhouse ensemble cast, including Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun. As the film continues to shatter records, Ranveer’s ability to pivot from the intense, high-stakes world of a record-breaking thriller to singing rare Bollywood hits with Shreya Ghoshal further cements his status as the industry’s most versatile entertainer.
Whether he is shattering the box office or surprising Shreya Ghoshal with his vocal chops, the “Dhurandhar” of Bollywood is clearly in a league of his own.
