Chitrangda Singh Hails Salman Khan For His Professionalism, Calls Him “Easy” To Work With
Chitrangda Singh debunked rumours around Salman Khan’s supposed lack of punctuality, praising his discipline and compassion on the sets of ‘Maatrubhumi’.
In the high-stakes world of Bollywood, where reputations often precede a star long before they set foot on a new set, Salman Khan has frequently been the subject of varied industry whispers. However, as the anticipation for his upcoming war drama ‘Maatrubhumi’ reaches a fever pitch, co-star Chitrangda Singh is setting the record straight, dismantling long-standing rumours about the superstar’s work ethic. Speaking at the NDTV Yuva event, Chitrangada Singh – who is paired with Salman for the first time in the Apoorva Lakhia directorial – admitted that she had entered the project with a degree of trepidation.

Like many in the industry, she had been warned by peers about Salman’s supposed lack of punctuality and the potential for schedules to be unpredictably stretched.
“Film bohot mehnat se banai hain, dil se banai hain. People talk about Salman that he is like this and he is like that and I also received a lot of tips on that topic. That I have to ready when he is not time and the the schedule might be stretched,” she revealed during the interview.
However, the reality of the ‘Maatrubhumi’ set told a very different story. Chitrangda noted that not only were the rumours unfounded, but Salman frequently arrived early, particularly when he knew she had an early call time.
Chitrangda also highlighted a side of Salman that rarely makes the headlines: his deep-seated concern for the crew. She recalled how the actor would consistently look out for the "least visible" people on set, ranging from light men to fourth assistant directors.
“In reality, nothing like that happened. I was prepared after so many people heard this rumour that is unprofessional… but there is no truth in them. He is so approachable and easy. He has that amazing quality where he looks out for the least seen person on set, might be the lightman, or the fourth AD. He will ask whether they had a break and had their food on time. How are they being treated. Things like that, and after years of working in the industry, to still have that concern, is amazing,” she shared.

‘Maatrubhumi’, produced under the Salman Khan Films banner, is no ordinary project. Inspired by the real-life bravery of the Indian Army during the 2020 Galwan Valley clash, the film sees Salman stepping into the boots of an Indian Army Colonel, while Chitrangda plays his wife.
The production has been physically demanding. To prepare for the role, Salman reportedly underwent a massive physical transformation, adopting a calisthenics-based fitness routine during a 45-day shooting schedule in the extreme high-altitude conditions of Ladakh. Without the luxury of a full gym setup, the actor pushed his limits through endurance drills to ensure an authentic portrayal of a battle-hardened soldier.
Despite the film’s patriotic core, it has already faced international scrutiny. Following the release of a teaser in December – which showcased intense combat between Indian and Chinese forces – Chinese state-backed media, including the Global Times, accused the film of “distorting facts”. However, the makers maintain that ‘Maatrubhumi’ is a story of resilience, sacrifice, and family.
While fans wait for an official release date for the war drama, Salman’s slate remains packed. He is already looking toward Eid 2027 for his next massive venture, tentatively titled ‘SVC63’. Helmed by director Vamshi Paidipally, the high-budget action entertainer will see Salman sharing the screen with Nayanthara for the first time.
