Watch: Thalapathy Vijay Attacked At Vijayakanth's Funeral, Chappal Thrown At Him
'Leo' star Thalapathy Vijay was seemingly attacked at the funeral of Tamil superstar Vijayakanth, when a chappal came flying in his direction.
The world is mourning the demise of Tamil superstar Vijayakanth. The actor, who was fondly referred to as 'Captain', passed away on Thursday. 'Leo' star Vijay also paid tribute to the late actor-turned-politician on Thursday evening at Island Ground in Chennai. In the latest entertainment news, a video is going viral on social media, in which Vijay can be seen walking through a mob of fans. In the video, a chappal then appears to come flying towards Vijay and seemingly hits him.
Vijay does not look back and a person who is walking beside the actor, throws the chappal back in the direction it came from.

It is not known why Vijay was seemingly targetted, however, one of actor Ajith’s fan clubs shared a statement condemning the attack.
“We #Ajith fans strongly condemneding this disrespect behaviour to vijay . whoever it may be, we should respect when they came to our place. Throwing slipper to @actorvijay is totally not acceptable, Stay strong #Vijay," the fan wrote.
For the unversed, Vijayakanth first entered in film industry through ‘Iniikum Ilamai’ in 1979.
Some of his popular movies include 'Senthoora Poove', 'Pulan Visaranai', 'Chatriyan', 'Captain Prabhakaran', 'Chinna Gounder', 'Sethupathi IPS', 'Honest Raj', 'Vanathai Pola', and 'Ramana', among others.
Through the movie 'Captain Prabhakaran ' in 1991, the actor earned his affectionate moniker ‘Captain’.
His role in the 1992 film 'Chinna Gounder' as a village chieftain further established his status as a beloved actor among the rural masses.
Vijayakanth also headed the actors’ body called Nadigar Sangam.
