Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala is currently riding high after her performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's new Hindi web series 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar' was praised by critics and audiences alike. Manisha Koirala definitely gave the show stealing performance as Mallikajaan. In the latest entertainment news, Manisha Koirala recently met UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak at his residence, 10 Downing Street. Manisha Koirala has taken to Instagram to share a series of pictures from the event, which was held to celebrate "100 years of the friendship treaty" between the UK and Nepal.
For the event, Manisha Koirala wore a black and golden saree. She also said that she was amazed to find out that most of the people present at the event had watched her new Hindi series 'Heeramandi'.
"It was an honor to be invited to 10 Downing Street to celebrate United Kingdom - Nepal relations and 100 years of our friendship treaty. It was such a pleasure to hear the Prime Minister @rishisunakmp speak fondly of our country #nepal," she wrote on Instagram.
"I took the liberty of inviting the P.M. and his family to come trek to Everest Base Camp. Can you believe that most of the attendees had seen #heeramandionnetflix and loved it ? I was thrilled," she added.

Coming back to 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar', the new Hindi web series also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Sharmin Segal in the lead roles.
The period drama is based on the pre-partition lives of courtesans of Lahore.
Speaking to Variety about the new Hindi web series, Sanjay Leela Bhansali said, "The reactions were overwhelming and heart-warming. What really stood out for me was that audiences have binge-watched ‘Heeramandi’ and even watched it twice or thrice over at a stretch. It was nice to see the kind of response we have received on social media and the kind of content people are creating around the show from different parts of the world.”
“The music of the series has struck a cord with audiences which is very rare for an OTT show. It’s also reassuring to see how people connected with the story, the life of these courtesans and the emotional journeys of the characters, regardless of their cultural background,” he added.
