The excitement for the highly anticipated romantic comedy-drama ‘Cocktail 2’ is reaching a fever pitch. Keeping the momentum alive, Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon recently treated her fans to a behind-the-scenes (BTS) video from the making of the film's hit track ‘Mashooqa’. Taking to her official Instagram handle, Kriti shared a reel packed with laughter, picturesque Italian landscapes, and candid moments with her co-star Shahid Kapoor, capturing the essence of the film's international shooting schedule.
The BTS video is a delightful montage that perfectly captures the "work hard, play hard" vibe of the ‘Cocktail 2’ set in Italy.

The video kicked off with Kriti Sanon looking chic in a car with the text "No more questions?" overlaid, instantly setting a playful mood. It quickly transitioned to sun-kissed moments on an Italian beach, featuring a breezy and laughing Shahid Kapoor rocking a peach shirt.
Showcasing the fun off-camera dynamic, director Homi Adajania and Kriti were seen goofing around with spaghetti, playfully dangling the pasta from their ears for the camera.
Kriti was also captured exploring historic cobblestone streets and local gelaterias, soaking in the vibrant energy of the Italian countryside. Another scene showed her deeply focused on a game of dominoes by the rocky shore, dressed in a stunning, colourful beachwear ensemble.
Highlighting the unpredictable nature of outdoor shoots, a brief, hilarious clip showed a massive lighting reflector being blown away by strong winds across a grassy field while the crew watched on.
The video culminated in a joyful celebration featuring a cake that read “Cocktail 2 Italy Schedule Wrap”. Shahid and Kriti, radiating infectious energy, were seen cheering and laughing before taking small bites from the celebratory dessert.
Since its release, ‘Mashooqa’ has become a massive talking point online. Composed by musical maestro Pritam, penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, and sung by Raghav Chaitanya and Mahmood Ruaa Kayy (with Italian portions by Mahmood), the track is an Italian Canzone Napoletana-style song. The music video showcases Shahid and Kriti romancing their way through the scenic Italian countryside.
While the song is being praised for its pure summer energy and groovy vibe, it has also sparked an online debate. A section of netizens pointed out similarities between ‘Mashooqa’ and a 1993 comedic Neapolitan track, ‘Se So Arrubate A Nonna’ by Italian duo Bibi & Coco. Pritam recently took to social media to address these plagiarism claims, dismissing them as "imaginary similarities" and defending his creative process.
Talking about the upcoming movie, it has been directed by Homi Adajania, the man behind the original 2012 cult hit ‘Cocktail’. The film also features Rashmika Mandanna in the lead role.
The movie is backed by Dinesh Vijan, Luv Ranjan, and Ankur Garg under the banners of Maddock Films and Luv Films. Rather than a direct continuation, ‘Cocktail 2’ explores a modern take on relationships, love, and friendship with entirely new characters. The film was extensively shot across picturesque locations in Sicily, Italy, as well as Delhi and Gurugram in India.
‘Cocktail 2’ is slated to hit theatres worldwide on June 19, 2026.
