Kangana Ranaut Calls Ayushmann Khurrana "Chaploos Outsider", Defends Labelling Ranbir Kapoor "Serial Skirt Chaser"
Kangana Ranaut defended her “serial skirt chaser” comment about Ranbir Kapoor. She also called Ayushmann Khurrana a “chaploos outsider”.
Actress and politician Kangana Ranaut is known for her unfiltered opinions and controversial statements. The Indian actress, who is currently gearing up for the release of her latest film 'Emergency', made an appearance on 'Aap Ki Adalat'. During this interview, she went on to defend her "serial skirt chaser" comment about Ranbir Kapoor. In the same interview, she also called Ayushmann Khurrana a “chaploos outsider”. The actress also took a swipe at star kids, criticising them for stepping out of their sheltered upbringings and failing to experience the real world.
When asked about her "serial skirt chaser" comment, Kangana said, "Aap toh aise bol rahi hai jaise woh Swami Vivekananda. You are advocating for them as if these are some great personalities and you are laughing too.”
"You can’t single out anyone in the film industry. Everyone knows how much culpable they are, and not just now but even in the 90s and 80s. They have drug cases, TADA, MeToo—there isn’t a single case that isn’t registered against them, but I am the bad person," she added.
Talking about Ayushmann Khurrana and why she calls him "chaploos", Kangana said, "He was the one who attacked me. Earlier, when he wasn’t successful, he called me a role model in an interview. Then, when he started getting work, he attacked me. He wanted to flatter somebody to get work. In this great ‘virtuous, holy’ industry, nobody has a problem with anybody, only I am the problem.”
“People want to see actors who have been out on the streets, among people, in the sun. I had to take ageing treatment for the role of Indira Gandhi. But these star kids go to the gym for every role, and take botox treatment. Honestly, I am not criticising. I am just saying go out in the sun," she added.
Speaking further, she said, "But what do they do? They come out of their car and say, ‘Hi I want this, I want that.’ 40-year-old star kids or 30-35-year-old girls wear pink glasses and act like children. No one sees how much trauma I go through, how much torture I go through by being with them."
Speaking of 'Emergency', the film is slated to release in cinemas on September 6, 2024. 'Emergency' also stars Anupam Kher, the late Satish Kaushik, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, Mahima Chaudhry and Milind Soman.
The movie has been directed and produced by Kangana Ranaut. It has been backed by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films.
Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut was last seen in ‘Tejas’. The film, which clashed with Vikrant Massey’s ‘12th Fail’ in October 2023, tanked miserably at the box office.
