A grand event was held in Bengaluru for the trailer launch, attended by the entire star cast and the director, Geetu Mohandas. The launch of the ‘Toxic’ trailer was far more than a promotional event. It felt like the unveiling of a cinematic world that had been carefully built over years of anticipation.

Yash came out in support of Kiara Advani amid online criticism over her intimate scenes in the film, urging his co-star to remain true to her choices and not let social media reactions dictate her work. The actor addressed the controversy at the film's grand trailer launch in Bengaluru on Saturday, where the much-anticipated trailer was unveiled to members of the media from across the country.
Kiara plays Nadia, a circus performer, in 'Toxic'. Her character's relationship with Yash's protagonist has already generated considerable discussion, particularly after the teaser and the song 'Tabaahi' featured several intimate moments between them. The scenes quickly became a talking point on social media, with Kiara facing criticism and trolling over her portrayal. The reaction continued to build as anticipation surrounding the film's trailer grew.
“The kind of role you have performed in this is just a glimpse in the trailer. You are so dedicated, man. I have seen you work so hard, and, you know, initially we all thought, ‘Okay, when you get all these actors there, could there be a problem?’ And there could be so many issues. But I think the start, the beginning, is Kiara was so down to earth, she dedicated herself and surrendered to this vision in the way she has performed,” said Yash.
“And what you have to go through as an actor, unfortunately, you don't care (about it). Whatever you believe in, you should do, and people will celebrate and appreciate. It's just that we are a little ahead of time,” he added.
2. Nayanthara Breaks Her Own Rule
Nayanthara, fondly known as the Lady Superstar, has built quite a fan base. But over the years, she has consistently chosen to skip promotional events. She even gave the 'Jawan' success bash a miss and recorded a video message as Shah Rukh Khan, Atlee and Deepika Padukone celebrated the success of the project in Mumbai in 2023. However, she broke her own rule for 'Toxic' and attended the event at Yash's request.
"It's not that I don't want to attend promotional events. It's just that I'm not very good at it. So, I stay away from it. But this was special for so many reasons. But I think it's just Yash. He just made a call, and it was enough for me to attend the event," she said.
3. Nayanthara Goes Gaga Over Kiara Advani
After taking the stage, Nayanthara couldn't stop herself from going gaga over Kiara Advani. With everyone listening to her, Nayanthara made a bold prediction, saying 'Toxic' would be one of the best performances from Kiara Advani and the latter's career will always be known as “before Toxic” and “after Toxic”.
“Kiara, I think this is one of the best films you have done in your entire career and like you said, 'there is a Kiara before, and there is Kiara going to be after Toxic'. Toxic is going to be your best, and you look absolutely stunning in the movie,” she said.
4. Geetu Mohandas Receives Standing Ovation
One of the most emotional moments arrived when director Geetu Mohandas took the microphone. The filmmaker spoke passionately about creating characters driven by vulnerability instead of invincibility. “I don’t know what my path is going to be after this movie. I don’t know where I am headed. But one thing is for sure. I am going to take a part of you wherever I go and whatever I create,” she said, addressing Yash.
5. Yash Makes Candid Tara Sutaria Admission
Yash revealed an interesting detail about Tara Sutaria's role in the project, sharing that her character was initially conceived as a much smaller part before the makers expanded it.
“We were seeing how we could make each character unique. But then your presence gave us so much that, in fact, we increased your scenes more than what was written. It was all because of your fabulous presence, your efforts and your elegance. You added a lot of elegance to the film, and thanks for being a part of it,” he told Tara at the event.
All You Need To Know About The Trailer
Running for nearly four and a half minutes, the trailer establishes Yash's protagonist as a gangster who operates by his own rules. He is shown as someone capable of drawing people towards him with his charm while remaining equally comfortable using violence when his interests are threatened.
At the heart of the trailer appears to be a battle for power. Rival factions are shown manoeuvring for control of a valuable criminal empire. One of the most intriguing aspects of the preview is the apparent suggestion that Yash could be portraying two generations of the same family. The trailer features imagery that seems to connect an older version of his character with a younger man, raising the possibility of a father-and-son relationship.
While the filmmakers have not officially explained the connection, the promotional material suggests that the younger character could be the older man's illegitimate son. Kiara Advani's character also appears to be linked to this mystery, with the trailer hinting at a past relationship and a possible revenge-driven return.
