The star-studded team recently made a massive splash at the prestigious San Diego Comic-Con, kicking off the film's global promotional campaign. While the event featured an engaging panel discussion followed by a series of in-depth interviews, it was an unexpectedly wholesome, off-script moment between the two leading men that truly captured the internet's attention.
During an interactive conversation with Review Nation, Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor and South sensation Yash were given a rather unique task: a colouring challenge. While director Nitesh Tiwari spoke passionately in the background about the upcoming magnum opus, the two actors appeared completely engrossed in their illustrations, displaying an infectious, childlike enthusiasm.

Yash, who will be portraying the formidable Ravana on screen, carefully filled in a sketch of the demon king. Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor, stepping into the divine role of Lord Rama, focused all his attention on colouring a beautiful artwork of the deity. Unfazed by the ongoing serious conversation happening right next to them, the two superstars remained deeply immersed in their drawings. This surprisingly tender moment quickly went viral, winning hearts across social media platforms.
A clip of the interview quickly surfaced online, and fans simply could not get enough of what they affectionately dubbed the “pookie girl dads”. The internet was flooded with heartwarming reactions celebrating the actors’ sweet off-screen personas.

The spectacular ensemble cast features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita, Ravie Dubey as Lord Lakshman, and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman. The ambitious project also boasts key performances from Kajal Aggarwal, Vivek Oberoi, Arun Govil, Rakul Preet Singh, and Kunal Kapoor, among others.
Mounted on a staggering, reported budget of Rs 4,000 crore, it stands as one of the most expensive films ever attempted in Indian cinema. The first part is currently scheduled to light up the box office on Diwali 2026.
Eager fans had been waiting with bated breath for the film's official trailer, which was initially scheduled to be released on Friday. However, producer Namit Malhotra announced that its launch has been postponed due to a massive new development.
Explaining the shift, he wrote on social media: "Today is a very special moment for our Ramayana. My dream of taking Ramayana to the world is now a reality with our partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment. In light of the above, we will be launching our trailer globally at a later date."
Adding to the mounting excitement, director Nitesh Tiwari shed light on the film's structure in a separate interview, confirming a major hook for the audience.
Discussing the decision to split the epic narrative, he stated: “Ramayana is a linear story, and where we leave off in Part One is something you can call a cliffhanger. It is something that will make people want to watch Part Two the moment they leave the theatre. It's a story that deserves two parts. It cannot be told in one part, and we decided that this would probably be the best juncture to leave it on in Part One, leaving the rest for Part Two.”
