Talking about ‘Love Insurance Kompany’, it is written and directed by Vignesh Shivan and marks a significant project for the couple’s production banner. It is jointly produced by Nayanthara and SS Lalit Kumar under Rowdy Pictures and Seven Screen Studio. A sci-fi romance set in the year 2040, ‘LIK’ explores a futuristic world where a corporation holds the power to decide who should fall in love.

The movie features a star-studded cast including Pradeep Ranganathan, SJ Suryah, and Krithi Shetty in lead roles. They are supported by a talented ensemble featuring Yogi Babu, Seeman, Gouri G Kishan, Shah Ra, Malavika, and Sunil Reddy.

The road to release for ‘Love Insurance Kompany’ has been a long one. Originally announced in 2019 with Sivakarthikeyan in the lead and Lyca Productions backing it, the project was temporarily shelved due to budget constraints. It found new life in 2023 when it was revived with Pradeep Ranganathan. Even the title saw a transition; originally titled ‘Love Insurance Corporation’, it was renamed following copyright claims by SS Kumaran and the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC).

After several postponements from its initial September 2025 date, the film finally hit theatres today (April 10, 2026).

Both Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan have been maintaining a busy professional calendar. Vignesh’s last directorial outing was the 2022 hit ‘Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal’, which featured a high-profile cast of Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, grossing Rs 52 crore worldwide. He was also recently featured in the Netflix documentary ‘Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale’.

Meanwhile, Nayanthara continues to dominate the screen. Following her roles in the 2025 Tamil film ‘Test’ and the Telugu film ‘Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu’ earlier this year, she has a massive lineup ahead. Fans can look forward to her upcoming Telugu film with Balakrishna, her Malayalam projects ‘Dear Students’ and ‘Patriot’, and a string of Tamil films including ‘Mookuthi Amman 2’, ‘Hi’, ‘Mannangatti Since 1960’, and ‘Rakkayie’.

Most notably, she will next be seen alongside Kannada superstar Yash, Bollywood actresses Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria and Huma Qureshi in ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown Ups’.

Nayanthara will also star opposite Salman Khan in National Award-winning filmmaker Vamshi Paidipally’s next, backed by Dil Raju.
