Varun Dhawan’s ‘Hai Jawani To Ishq Hona Hai’ has got a new release date.

Varun Dhawan’s upcoming film ‘Hai Jawani To Ishq Hona Hai’ was initially set for a box-office clash with Yash’s ‘Toxic: A FairyTale for Grown Ups’. However, the makers of Varun’s film have now decided to push its release by a week. The romantic comedy will now arrive in theatres on June 12. On Tuesday, the makers announced the new release date through an official statement shared by Tips Films on Instagram. The post was shared in collaboration with Varun Dhawan, Pooja Hegde and Mrunal Thakur.

In the note, the team clarified that the film had originally been scheduled to release on June 5, a date that had been announced several months earlier.

The statement explained that recent developments prompted the team to reconsider their plans and shift the release. It read, “We would like to clarify that our film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai was originally scheduled for release on 5th June, a date we had announced several months ago. However, after recent developments and considering the prevailing situation, we felt it would be more appropriate to shift our release.”

The makers also emphasised the importance of cooperation within the film industry when it comes to release schedules. The statement added, “We strongly believe that it is always healthier for the industry when filmmakers support one another rather than compete unnecessarily on the same date. In that spirit of solidarity, we have decided to move the release of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai to 12th June and bring our film to the audiences a week later.”

For context, Yash’s highly anticipated film ‘Toxic: A FairyTale for GrownUps’ was earlier scheduled to release on March 19 but was recently postponed to June 4. Reports suggested that the makers decided to push the film’s release in the hope that the situation in the Middle East would stabilise by then. The film had initially been set to clash with ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, which stars Ranveer Singh and is releasing on March 19.

Meanwhile, ‘Hai Jawani To Ishq Hona Hai’ is a romantic comedy directed by veteran filmmaker David Dhawan. Interestingly, the film’s title is inspired by a popular line from the 1999 film ‘Biwi No.1’, which starred Salman Khan, Sushmita Sen and Karisma Kapoor.

The upcoming film features Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles. The ensemble cast also includes Chunky Panday, Mouni Roy, Rohit Saraf and Jimmy Sheirgill in key parts.
