Aditya Dhar's spy actioner ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, starring Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal and Sanjay Dutt, has taken just six days to cross the Rs 550 crore mark at the domestic box office. For the sixth day in a row, the Bollywood project minted more than Rs 50 crore at the ticket counters, earning Rs 56.55 crore on the sixth day of its release. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film's total nett domestic collection now stands at a whopping Rs 575.67 crore. The film is all set to enter the Rs 600 crore club on Wednesday.

The worldwide collection of the film stands at Rs 919 crore, and it's expected that the Rs 1000 crore mark would be breached in the next few days.

On Tuesday, 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' had an overall occupancy of 36.7 per cent. While the film might have been released in multiple languages, such as Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil, the bulk of the collections are being reported in the Hindi version. However, the Telugu version is also contributing to the collection, unlike in some recent Bollywood projects.

'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' has gone past the lifetime worldwide collection of projects like 'Kantara: Chapter 1' (Rs 852.36 crore), 'Stree 2' (Rs 857.15 crore) and ‘Animal’ ( Rs 917 crore). It will now set its sights on Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’ and Prabhas’ ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ (both around Rs 1050 crore).

However, the movie is unlikely to become the fastest Indian film to enter the Rs 1000 crore club worldwide. Allu Arjun's 'Pushpa 2: The Rule' took just seven days to achieve the feat, while it looks like 'Dhurandhar 2' will take eight days to do the same.

Despite raking in the moolah at the box office, 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' has become a subject of a few controversies. Several critics are labelling it "propaganda". Earlier, the Sikh community also took offence to the project, claiming that a particular scene hurt their religious sentiments.

The scene in question shows the character of R Madhavan reciting a verse from the Dasam Granth, attributed to Guru Gobind Singh, while reportedly smoking a cigarette. However, on Tuesday, R Madhavan issued a clarification, saying that before reciting the verse, he had removed the cigarette from his hands.

"Recently, we came to know that some people were hurt because in one scene of the film, while reciting lines from Guru Gobind Singh ji’s Dasam Granth, I was seen smoking a cigarette. I assure you, this is not correct—it is a misunderstanding. Before delivering those lines, Aditya Dhar, who is very mindful about such things, had clearly told me to put out the cigarette. There would be no smoke from my mouth, no smoke visible on screen, and no cigarette in my hand, because this is sacred and pure for us as well," he had said in a video shared on Instagram.

“I properly extinguished the cigarette. If you watch the scene carefully, you will see there is no smoke, no trace of it in the frame, and no sign of a cigarette till the end of the scene. We are aware that we should never hurt anyone’s sentiments, even unknowingly. We stand with the entire Sikh community and always will. We have deep respect for them. In fact, before every film release, I visit the Golden Temple—everyone knows that. Please believe that we had no intention of hurting anyone, and we have not done so in this film," he added.

Speaking of 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge', the film also stars Danish Pandor, Rakesh Bedi and Sara Arjun. ‘Dhurandhar 2’ serves as both a sequel and an origin story for Ranveer Singh’s character, Hamza Ali Mazari (also known as Jaskirat Singh Rangi). The plot follows the Indian spy as he continues his mission to dismantle a terror network in Pakistan that threatens Indian security.
