Sunny Deol, Rajkumar Santoshi To Come Together For Aamir Khan's Production 'Lahore, 1947'
Actor Sunny Deol and director Rajkumar Santoshi will be teaming up for Aamir Khan's production 'Lahore, 1947'.
Actor Sunny Deol and director Rajkumar Santoshi will be teaming up for Aamir Khan's production 'Lahore, 1947'. The official announcement was made on Tuesday. 'Lahore, 1947' will be Aamir Khan Productions' (AKP) 17th production under their banner. This is not the first time that Sunny Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi are coming together for a film. Rajkumar Santoshi and Sunny Deol have previously delivered three box office hits together in the form of 'Ghayal', 'Damini' and 'Ghatak'.
Given this impressive track record, it's only natural to anticipate that their upcoming project will be nothing short of an epic.
‘Lahore, 1947’ also marks the reunion of Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Santoshi after their iconic cult classic, 'Andaz Apna Apna'.
"I, and the entire team at AKP, are most excited and happy to announce our next, starring Sunny Deol, directed by Raj Kumar Santoshi, titled Lahore, 1947. We look forward to collaborating with the immensely talented Sunny, and one of my favourite directors Raj Santoshi," Aamir Khan Productions said in an official statement.
"The journey we have embarked on promises to be most enriching. We seek your blessings," the statement added.

What makes the announcement even more impressive is the fact that Sunny Deol and Aamir Khan have had very iconic box-office clashes as competitors in the past, where both have eventually emerged victorious.
The first iconic clash at the ticket window was witnessed in 1990 when Aamir Khan’s 'Dil' and Sunny Deol’s 'Ghayal' released on the same day. Then in 1996, it was 'Raja Hindustani' vs 'Ghatak' and it was followed by the most epic box office clash of Indian cinema in 2001 when 'Lagaan' released on the same day as 'Gadar'.
Sunny Deol was last seen in 'Gadar 2' alongside Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma. The Anil Sharma-directorial grossed more than Rs 500 crore at the domestic box office, and it is currently the second-highest grossing Hindi film of all-time, behind Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan'.
