Sara Ali Khan’s post served as a treasure trove of unseen moments that captured the innocence and excitement of her early days in the industry. The first photo was a breathtaking shot of Sara and Sushant sitting together on a rocky hillside in the valley, with the mountains behind them – a perfect snapshot of their characters, Mukku and Mansoor.
Perhaps the most heartwarming image in the collection was a candid BTS shot where Sushant was seen carrying Sara in a traditional basket on his back, a playful re-enactment of his character’s job as a ‘pithoo’ (porter) in the film. In another slide, the duo was captured sharing a laugh while Sushant carried her, showcasing the genuine camaraderie they shared off-screen.
Sara Ali Khan also shared a poignant photo of the two sitting inside a dimly lit room during a shoot, their faces illuminated by a warm light, looking every bit the lovers they portrayed.
Accompanying the photos was a caption that was as moving as the visuals. “7 years to Kedarnath,” Sara wrote. “If only I could go back to 2017… not to change a single moment but to relive, cherish and truly appreciate every nanosecond of that magical time,” she added.
She went on to list the many "firsts" the film gave her: "My introduction to black coffee, the genesis of my love for trekking, the start of my moon obsession, true desire for the camera, gratitude to my audience and the realisation of my fondness for pahadi khana.”
True to her words, the photo dump included snapshots of her enjoying pahadi snacks (a mix of Maggi and local sweets) and a script reading session at 4:25 am, highlighting the hard work that went into her debut performance.
Sara dedicated a special part of her note to Sushant, writing, “Thank you Sushant for introducing me to all of this. But mostly thank you for reminding me to always be curious and always try and learn.”
The carousel also featured a sweet group photo with director Abhishek Kapoor, where the trio was seen smiling on set, and a clipping of a Bombay Times article from the time, titled “An auspicious start to Sara Ali Khan's Bollywood career,” featuring a selfie of Sara and Abhishek outside the Kedarnath temple.
Other gems in the dump included a picture of her first movie tickets for ‘Kedarnath’ and ‘Simmba’ framed together, a throwback to her winning the Filmfare Award for Best Debut with her mother, Amrita Singh, by her side, and a cosy photo of the team huddled in blankets to beat the freezing Kedarnath cold.
As Sara noted in her caption, the film remains an “integral and sacred part” of her world, and for fans, these photos are a beautiful reminder of why ‘Kedarnath’ will always be special.
