Kriti Sanon Warns Delhi Pollution May Reach A Point Where People Can’t Even See Each Other
Kriti Sanon voiced strong concerns about Delhi’s hazardous pollution levels, warning that the city’s air quality is deteriorating to the point where visibility between people may soon vanish.
Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon used her promotional trip to Delhi for ‘Tere Ishk Mein’ to spotlight a crisis that haunts the capital every winter – its dangerously worsening air pollution. With the Air Quality Index (AQI) shooting above 400 on Sunday, falling into the “hazardous” category, the Bollywood diva addressed the media and urged attention towards the alarming state of the city’s environment. As someone who grew up in Delhi, Kriti Sanon didn’t hold back while speaking about how drastically things have deteriorated.
Kriti Sanon expressed deep concern and frustration over the recurring issue. “I don’t think saying anything will help. It’s getting worse and worse. I am from Delhi, and I know how it used to be in the past. Something needs to be done to stop it; otherwise, it will reach a point where we won’t even be able to see each other standing next to us,” she said during the interaction.
Her comments came soon after she returned from Udaipur, where she performed at the sangeet ceremony of Netra Mantena and Vamsi Gadiraju. The stark difference in air quality between Udaipur’s clearer atmosphere and Delhi's smog-laden air made the issue even more striking to her.
Alongside addressing environmental concerns, Kriti also spoke about working with Dhanush in ‘Tere Ishk Mein’. She praised his craft, calling him an actor-filmmaker with profound understanding and instinct. “I believe he has a very strong grasp of his craft. He’s very nuanced; he has also directed several films, bringing a wealth of experience and understanding to scenes and how they will translate on screen,” she said.
‘Tere Ishk Mein’ is widely regarded as a spiritual successor to the beloved 2013 film ‘Raanjhanaa’. The upcoming release reunites Dhanush with director Aanand L. Rai, marking another chapter in their successful collaboration.
Set to hit theatres on November 28, the film is produced by Aanand L. Rai, Himanshu Sharma, Bhushan Kumar, and Krishan Kumar. The script has been penned by Sharma and Neeraj Yadav, while the music is composed by A.R. Rahman, with lyrics written by Irshad Kamil.
