“Sensible Kangu Is Back”: Kangana Ranaut Wins The Internet By Calling Deepika Padukone Irreplaceable. Watch
Kangana Ranaut has earned praise online for her thoughtful remarks on Deepika Padukone and other iconic actresses, calling them irreplaceable talents.
Kangana Ranaut is winning hearts across the internet, prompting fans to declare that the “Sensible Kangu is back”. In an industry notoriously obsessed with pitting leading ladies against one another and constantly searching for the “next big star,” Kangana has taken a refreshingly secure stance. In a series of recent interviews, the actress and politician spoke passionately about her contemporaries and predecessors, reserving special praise for Deepika Padukone. According to Kangana, some talents are simply irreplaceable – placing Deepika in the same legendary tier as icons like Meena Kumari and Madhuri Dixit.

Speaking to ABP Live as she reflected on her career, Kangana dismantled the notion that female stars are easily replaceable. When asked why the industry hasn't found another Kangana Ranaut, she offered a profound perspective on legacy.
“Humko lagta hai ki actresses aati hain aur jaati hain. Lekin aisa nahi hai. Dusri Meena Kumari nahi milegi, yahan tak ki main soch rahi thi dusri Karisma Kapoor bhi nahi hogi. Voh jo ek waqt hota hai, chahe Hema Malini ji ho, Waheeda Rehman ho yaa Madhubala toh khair ho hi nahi sakti. Har daur ke ek face hote hain jinko aap kabhi replace nahi kar sakte,” Kangana explained. “Madhuri Dixit dusri nahi hogi. Yeh meri hi baat nahi hai. Mujhe lagta hai dusri Deepika Padukone bhi nahi hogi.”

She further elaborated on this dynamic, noting that an era is defined by the artists who represent it: “Ek daur hota, uss daur ko hum represent karte hain. Lekin yeh baat zaroor hai ki Madhuri ji itna kaam kar rahi, kahin na kahin logon ko yeh baat ka abhas late hua lekin ho zaroor raha hai kyunki unka kaam abhi bhi enjoy kara jaa raha hai. Varna aisa hota ki nahi nahi inko hatao nayi actresses ko laao. They are rare happenings woh hona nahi waali dusri baar.”

Unsurprisingly, Reddit and other social media platforms erupted in praise. Users flooded forums with comments like, “I love her clarity of thought,” “The way she spoke about all her contemporaries and seniors. Pure love!”, and “Her line of thought is so aligned. Shows how much she thinks.” The overarching sentiment was perhaps best captured by one user who wrote: “Sensible kangu is back... I love this mature, secure version of Kangana.”
Kangana's admiration for Deepika goes beyond acknowledging her legacy; she also credited her contemporary for implicitly guiding her professional discipline. In a separate conversation with Entertainment Live, she recalled her early days in the industry.
“When I came from home, I didn't know anything. I was a 15–16-year-old girl from the mountains. Even forming meaningful sentences was a challenge. Whatever I have learned, I learned by observing people,” she shared. Emphasizing the contrast in their backgrounds, she added, "Even when it came to my contemporaries, like Deepika and others, they had an athletic background. I came from a science background. I would see how disciplined they were with exercise and fitness. I always learned from my contemporaries.”’
In a separate recent ANI interview, Kangana strongly backed Deepika's demand for an eight-hour workday, an essential accommodation for a working mother.
“When you're new, you're coming up, and you are replaceable. Your place is different. She (Deepika Padukone), being where she is, she's a mother. She's got a family to look after. She's also earned that place where people are going to say, 'Wait a minute, I want her. And it's okay if she comes for eight hours because we'll work around her time,'” Kangana argued.
Kangana's reflections arrive just as her latest cinematic venture, ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’, hit theatres today (June 12). The film pays tribute to the unsung heroes of the 26/11 terror attacks, narrating the true story of the nurses and ward boys who became quiet saviours at Mumbai's Cama Hospital. Kangana essays the role of a nurse, sharing the screen with a talented ensemble that includes Girija Oak, Smita Tambe, Amrutha Namdev, Esha Dey, Priya Berde, Asha Shelar, Suhita Thatte, Rasika Aaghase, and Aditya Mishra.
