Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu appears ready to leave her long-running public spat with Kangana Ranaut behind. After years of exchanging pointed remarks and indirect digs, the 'Dunki' star has now made it clear that she does not wish to add any more fuel to the controversy. The latest chapter in the Taapsee-Kangana saga unfolded after comments made by Taapsee in a recent interview drew a sharp response from Kangana. However, when the subject came up again at the trailer launch of Taapsee’s upcoming Netflix film 'Gandhari' in Mumbai, the actress signalled that she would rather move on.

Taapsee was asked about Kangana’s reaction to her recent remarks. Instead of extending the back-and-forth, she requested the media to stop questioning her about the issue. She also took a light-hearted swipe at the entertainment media, suggesting that the topic has received more attention than she would like.
"Aap khatam kyun nahi hone dete yeh baat? Koi question puchna hum dono se band karega jab yeh wala, toh yeh issue bhi khatam ho jayega," said Taapsee.
“Aap sab logon ko maza aa raha hai yeh sab dekh ke, isiliye wahi sawaal puch rahe hain. Aise sawaal puchna agar aap band kar dete, toh yeh baat kab ki khatam ho jati," she added.

The two actresses have been at odds publicly for several years, with their exchanges becoming a recurring talking point. The dispute can be traced back to 2019, when Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel described Taapsee as a “sasti copy” of Kangana. The phrase subsequently became associated with the two actors’ public exchanges, with Taapsee occasionally referring to it herself tongue-in-cheek.

The issue resurfaced recently when Taapsee was asked about her equation with Kangana during an interview with India Today. Taapsee said that she had never personally met Kangana and suggested that their contrasting approaches reflected their respective backgrounds and personalities.
“I haven't met her. I didn't meet her before when these so-called issues started. I haven't met her now as well,” Taapsee said. She added that her perspective on Kangana was shaped by “my upbringing and my way of talking, my way of perceiving things,” while Kangana had her own way of looking at matters.
The comments prompted Kangana to respond on Instagram Stories. Reviving the old “sasti copy” jibe, Kangana accused Taapsee of making comments about her upbringing and parents while also questioning the attention surrounding Taapsee’s upcoming film.
The controversy did not end there. On Monday, Kangana once again took aim at Taapsee while also directing criticism at actors including Ashutosh Rana, Sonu Sood and Rakhi Sawant.
