It is a milestone day for Ram Charan as he celebrates his 41st birthday today. While fans across the globe are flooding social media with heartfelt wishes, the actor has turned the tables by gifting his audience a double treat: a high-octane video glimpse from his upcoming film ‘Peddi’ and a powerful display of professional resilience following a recent on-set injury. The makers of ‘Peddi’ officially unveiled a 45-second teaser video to mark the actor's birthday, offering a look at his raw and rugged transformation.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana of ‘Uppena’ fame, the sports-action drama features Ram Charan in a never-seen-before avatar. Sporting long, tied-back hair and a chiselled, formidable physique, the actor portrays a rustic wrestler who takes his craft with deadly seriousness.

Check out the video glimpse here:

The video glimpse is packed with gritty visuals, including sequences of Ram Charan lifting a heavy traditional gada, tossing massive sacks into a truck with the precision of a German suplex, and training intensely under heavy rain. One of the standout moments features a powerful dialogue exchange where a narrator warns that wrestling is not like cricket – it is a game where one “faces death itself”. To this, Ram Charan’s character confidently replies, “Dear, listen, my pride is my game,” before punctuating the moment by twirling his moustache.

The birthday celebrations come on the heels of a concerning incident on set. While filming a high-intensity action sequence for ‘Peddi’, Ram Charan sustained a minor injury near his left eye that required four sutures.

Demonstrating his work-first attitude, Ram Charan refused to take a hiatus. He was spotted back on the sets of ‘Peddi’ on Thursday, sporting a visible bandage above his eye. Dressed in his traditional black Ayyappa Mala attire with his hair up in a bun, he took the time to meet with hundreds of concerned fans who had gathered at the shooting location.

Despite the injury, the actor looked unbothered, clicking selfie videos and greeting the cheering crowd that had lined up under a specially erected tent to wish him a happy birthday.

Set against a rural backdrop and reportedly cantered around a village-based cricket tournament that intersects with the world of wrestling, ‘Peddi’ is one of the most anticipated releases of 2026. The film marks Janhvi Kapoor’s second outing in Telugu cinema, following her debut with Jr NTR. She portrays Achiyamma, a bubbly and spirited character. The ensemble cast is further bolstered by Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu Sharma, Jagapathi Babu, and Boman Irani.

The film features a musical score by Academy Award winner AR Rahman, who recently released the second single ‘Rai Rai Raa Raa’. Produced by Vriddhi Cinemas, Mythri Movie Makers, and IVY Entertainment, ‘Peddi’ is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on April 30, 2026, across multiple languages including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.

As Ram Charan balances his professional commitments with his growing family – having recently welcomed twins with wife Upasana Konidela – the teaser for ‘Peddi’ has successfully set the stage for what promises to be another landmark entry in his storied career.
