Actor Ram Charan is officially on the road to recovery. Following a successful surgery on his right wrist on Sunday, the Telugu superstar is currently recuperating in Coimbatore. The news of his successful procedure brought a wave of relief to fans worldwide, especially after a photograph of the actor smiling from his hospital bed alongside his medical team went massively viral, prompting the hashtag #GetWellSoonRamCharan to trend globally on X.

According to reports, the actor suffered the injury to his right wrist while filming an intense wrestling action sequence for his recently released sports action drama, ‘Peddi’. However, rather than immediately stepping away for treatment, Ram Charan chose to push through the pain. After doctors in Hyderabad examined the wrist and advised that an operation was the only permanent fix, the actor opted to defer the procedure so he could complete the remaining crucial portions of the shoot and fulfill his promotional commitments for the film's release.

He later consulted multiple specialists before choosing Ganga Hospital in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, for the operation. Given the complexity of the injury, the surgical team was led by the Chief of Ganga Hospital, Dr. S. Rajasekaran. To ensure the best care, internationally acclaimed hand and wrist surgeon Dr. Alejandro Badia (also referred to as Dr. Alessandro Badia) was flown in from Miami to join the team, alongside Dr. Praveen Bharadwaj.

Updating on the procedure, a source close to the development revealed, “The surgery was super successful. It was a complicated procedure but was managed with precision laparoscopically.” The medical team has reportedly expressed satisfaction with the outcome and has strictly advised the actor to take eight weeks of bed rest before returning to his professional commitments.

Ram Charan is currently surrounded by his family, with his father Chiranjeevi, mother Surekha, and wife Upasana Konidela by his side at the hospital.

Acknowledging his immense dedication, Vriddhi Cinemas, the production house behind ‘Peddi’, released an official statement on social media praising the actor. Calling him "a fighter on and off the screen," the statement read:

“We are happy to know that our beloved Mega Power Star Ram Charan Garu has successfully undergone wrist surgery for an injury sustained during the shoot of ‘Peddi’. Despite the discomfort, he continued shooting and completed crucial portions of the film with remarkable dedication and commitment. His passion, perseverance, and unwavering professionalism have been truly inspiring to the entire team. We are glad to know that he is doing well. We wish him a smooth and speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back in the best of health very soon.”

This wrist injury wasn't the first physical toll the film took on the actor. Earlier this year, Ram Charan suffered a serious forehead injury during a separate action sequence on the sets of ‘Peddi’, which required surgery at Apollo Hospitals in Hyderabad.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, ‘Peddi’ hit theatres on June 4. Made on a massive reported budget of Rs 350 crore, the film was presented by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings. It boasts a star-studded cast including Shiva Rajkumar, Janhvi Kapoor, Jagapathi Babu, and Divyenndu, featuring cinematography by R. Rathnavelu and music by A.R. Rahman.

Once he completes his mandated eight-week recovery period and is cleared by his medical team, Ram Charan is expected to begin work on his highly anticipated next project with director Sukumar, currently tentatively referred to as ‘RC17’.
