Chiranjeevi Trolled For Wanting Ram Charan To Have A Son So Their “Legacy Can Continue”
At a recent ‘Brahma Anandam’ pre-release event, Chiranjeevi expressed his wish for having a grandson.
South superstar Chiranjeevi is facing backlash on social media after his comments did not go down well with netizens. At a recent ‘Brahma Anandam’ pre-release event, Chiranjeevi spoke about not having a grandson, who could carry his legacy forward. For the unversed, Chiranjeevi is the father of actor Ram Charan. The ‘RRR’ star and his wife Upasana Konidela welcomed a baby girl named Klin Kaara in 2023. At the event, Chiranjeevi said, “When I'm at home, it doesn't feel like I'm surrounded by my granddaughters; it feels like I'm a ladies' hostel warden, surrounded by ladies all around.”
“I keep wishing and telling Charan, at least this time, have a boy so that our legacy continues, but his daughter is the apple of his eye... I'm scared that he might again have a girl,” he added.
A video of the same was shared by a Twitter user, who wrote, “Chiranjeevi is scared his son Ram Charan might have another daughter In 2025, the obsession with a male heir continues. Disappointing, but not surprising - PS - I have a girl and I have heard from 100s of people to give birth to a boy next. It feels horrible when people want us to control things I can’t.”

Soon after the video went viral, several social media users reacted to it. One user wrote, “Celebrity like him should be cautious what to say in public. It’s so.”
Another one added, “He shouldn't have spoken in this manner had his daughters be successful in their fields. Have we ever heard, Dr. pratap reddy garu talk like that , it's because all his daughters are first-generation entrepreneurs. let's learn to empower our women and then be proud of them.”

For the unversed, Chiranjeevi was the one who announced Klin Kaara's birth in 2023. On X, he wrote, “And the baby’s name is ‘Klin Kaara Konidela. Taken from the Lalitha Sahasranamam .. the name ‘Klin Kaara’ .. signifies a transformative purifying energy that brings about a spiritual awakening! All of us are sure the little one, the Little Princess will imbibe these qualities into her personality .. as she grows up.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Chiranjeevi was last seen in 2023 films 'Waltair Veerayya' and 'Bhola Shankar'. He will next be seen in 'Vishwambhara', directed by Vassishta.
Ram Charan, on the other hand, was last seen in ‘Game Changer’ alongside Kiara Advani.
