Ram Charan’s team has confirmed that he was injured while shooting for ‘Peddi’.

In a testament to his unwavering dedication and professionalism, Indian star Ram Charan has reportedly returned to the sets of his upcoming film ‘Peddi’, just hours after sustaining an injury during a high-octane action sequence. The incident, which occurred during the filming of a crucial scene for the sports drama, initially sparked significant concern among his massive global fanbase following leaked reports of a mishap on set.

While filming an intense action sequence on Tuesday for director Buchi Babu Sana’s highly anticipated project, Ram Charan sustained a cut near his eye. As news of the injury began to circulate on social media, rumours intensified, with some fans fearing that the actor’s vision had been compromised. However, Ram Charan’s team quickly moved to quell these reports, providing a detailed clarification.

A source from the actor's camp told Hindustan Times that while the injury required medical attention, it was not as severe as initially feared. The actor sustained a cut just above his eye, which necessitated four sutures (stitches).

“Ram Charan was shooting for an action episode yesterday (Tuesday) and was injured. He had to get four sutures for it. He was injured above his eye, not his eye, like some seem to believe. His eye is fine,” the source told HT.

The source also stated that Ram Charan is back to work and has not taken a break. “He is back to work as it’s a minor injury and there’s nothing to worry about,” the source said.

‘Peddi’ marks an ambitious collaboration between Ram Charan and director Buchi Babu Sana, who previously rose to fame with the blockbuster ‘Uppena’. The film is a large-scale sports drama that has been generating buzz since its official title announcement in March 2025. Produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas and presented by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, the project features a stellar ensemble cast.

Joining Ram Charan on screen is Janhvi Kapoor, marking her continued foray into South Indian cinema, alongside Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, and Divyenndu. The film also boasts a world-class technical crew, with Academy Award winner AR Rahman composing the musical score. After a brief hiatus, principal photography resumed in earnest in November 2024, with the team currently working through the action portions of the script.

The production has also seen some adjustments to its release calendar. Initially slated for a late March release, ‘Peddi’ is now scheduled to hit theatres on April 30 this year. This strategic shift allowed the film to avoid a crowded window that saw significant movement from other major projects.

Specifically, the March 27 slot was originally eyed by Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’, while the remake of ‘Theri’ moved up to March 19 to coincide with the release of the Hindi actioner ‘Dhurandhar 2’. By moving to the end of April, ‘Peddi’ aims to secure a solo window to maximize its box office potential.

Even amidst his rigorous shooting schedule, Ram Charan has stayed connected with the pulse of Indian cinema. The actor recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a glowing review of Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, starring Ranveer Singh in the lead.

Fans now eagerly await the trailer of ‘Peddi’, which is expected to showcase the actor in a never-before-seen avatar.
