‘Manjummel Boys’, one of the biggest recent hits in Malayalam cinema, is now releasing in Telugu.

Malayalam movies are having a phenomenal run in 2024 as the industry has already given three box office juggernauts in the form of ‘Manjummel Boys’, ‘Premalu’, and ‘Bramayugam’. ‘Manjummel Boys’, which released on February 22 as a low-budget film, has truly exceeded expectations and continues to rake in earnings.

Meanwhile, there are many reports about the OTT release of the film. It was being reported that the film will be released on Disney+ Hotstar on April 5. But so far, there has been no official announcement by the OTT platform or the makers about the same.
According to a report by OTT Play, the makers have said that the film will be released digitally after its theatrical run in Telugu.
Directed by Chidambaram Poduval, ‘Manjummel Boys’ has garnered immense praise and acclaim for its gripping narrative and its ode to Kamal Haasan’s film ‘Guna’.
The film stars Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, and others. The film’s music has been composed by Sushin Shyam.
The film is based on a true incident of a group of Kochi guys whose vacation in Kodaikanal goes awry when one of the boys gets lost in the dangerous depths of the Guna caves.
In an earlier chat with IMDb, Chidambaram spoke about the possibility of remaking ‘Manjummel Boys’ in other languages.
He said, “There will be a bunch of boys like these in every corner of the world. Plus, friendship and love are very universal things. But since Manjummel Boys is based on a real story, I don’t know how it will be placed in other settings, and if it is entirely fictional, I am not sure if it will gain as much acceptance. However, I am very open to (the idea of) remakes and reinterpretations.”
Soubin Shahir produced ‘Manjummel Boys’ under the Parava Films banner in collaboration with Sree Gokulam Cinemas.
