Akshay Kumar And Arshad Warsi’s ‘Jolly LLB 3’ Collects Over Rs 50 Crore In First Three Days
Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi’s ‘Jolly LLB 3’ crossed Rs 53.50 crore in its opening weekend, outpacing several 2025 releases at the box office.

Indian film director Subhash Kapoor’s gamble of bringing together the two Jollys – Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi – has proven successful, as ‘Jolly LLB 3’ is off to a strong start at the box office. If the opening weekend numbers are any indication, the courtroom drama is racing ahead of both its predecessors: Arshad Warsi’s ‘Jolly LLB’ (2013) and Akshay Kumar’s ‘Jolly LLB 2’ (2017), both also directed by Subhash Kapoor.
The film, which released in theatres on September 19, has struck a chord with audiences thanks to its mix of humour, sharp courtroom exchanges, and socially conscious themes. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, ‘Jolly LLB 3’ has earned a total of Rs 53.50 crore in its first three days. The film opened with Rs 12.5 crore on Friday, picked up with Rs 20 crore on Saturday, and further grew to Rs 21 crore on Sunday, registering an overall 40.36 per cent occupancy on its third day.
This puts the threequel ahead of ‘Jolly LLB 2’, which had collected about Rs 50 crore in its opening weekend back in 2017. The original ‘Jolly LLB’ in 2013 had a much more modest start with Rs 12.35 crore. While ‘Jolly LLB 3’ hasn’t exceeded expectations by a wide margin, it has certainly delivered the results the makers were hoping for.
The film pits Akshay’s Jagdwishwar ‘Jolly’ Mishra against Arshad’s Jagdish ‘Jolly’ Tyagi in a high-stakes courtroom battle, with both men bending rules. The case at the centre of the story involves struggling farmers whose lands are being seized by a corrupt businessman, played by Gajraj Rao. The plot complicates when Akshay’s character ends up on the wrong side of the case, setting off a series of witty, chaotic confrontations with Arshad Warsi.
‘Jolly LLB 3’ boasts a strong ensemble cast that includes Huma Qureshi, Saurabh Shukla, Amrita Rao, Seema Biswas, Ram Kapoor, Shilpa Shukla, Brijendra Kala, and others.
At the box office, the film’s weekend tally puts it above several recent releases. It has already surpassed Sonu Sood’s ‘Fateh’ (Rs 18.87 crore), Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Emergency’ (Rs 20.48 crore), Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Deva’ (Rs 33.97 crore), John Abraham’s ‘The Diplomat’ (Rs 40.73 crore), Kajol’s ‘Maa’ (Rs 38.63 crore), Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Maalik’ (Rs 26.36 crore), Siddhant Chaturvedi’s ‘Dhadak 2’ (Rs 24.24 crore), Himesh Reshammiya’s ‘Badass Ravi Kumar’ (Rs 13.78 crore), and Ajay Devgn’s ‘Son of Sardaar 2’ (Rs 47.15 crore).
However, compared to Akshay Kumar’s own recent outings, the film trails. His earlier release this year, ‘Housefull 5’, earned Rs 55 crore in just two days. ‘Sky Force’ collected Rs 65.25 crore in its first weekend, while ‘Kesari: Chapter 2’ managed Rs 27.50 crore in three days – lower than ‘Jolly LLB 3’ but still highlighting mixed competition for the star.
With its Rs 53.50 crore opening weekend, the next benchmarks for ‘Jolly LLB 3’ are Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor’s ‘Param Sundari’ (Rs 54.66 crore) and Anurag Basu’s ‘Metro… In Dino’ (Rs 56.30 crore).
Crucially, it is miles ahead of its only other Hindi release of the week, Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Nishaanchi’, which earned just Rs 85 lakh. With two relatively clear weeks at the box office before the October 2 releases arrive, ‘Jolly LLB 3’ is well positioned to build on its promising start.
