Here's how much 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' and 'Maidaan' collected on Saturday, the third day of their release.
Eid 2024 releases 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' and 'Maidaan' are continuing with their underwhelming performance at the box office. Both films, which released in cinemas on Thursday (April 11), are not able to find many takers at the ticket counters, and this is clearly reflecting in their box office collection, and as of now, it looks like an uphill task for both movies to emerge as a hit.
As per industry tracker Sacnilk, Ali Abbas Zafar's 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan', starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, minted Rs 8.50 crore on Saturday, the third day of its release. The total three-day nett domestic collection now stands at Rs 31.75 crore.
For the uninitiated, 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' is an important film for Akshay Kumar as his last box office hit was 'OMG 2', in which he had an extended cameo. The superstar's last few films like 'Ram Setu', 'Samrat Prithviraj', 'Mission Raniganj', and 'Selfiee', tanked at the box office.
On the other hand, Amit Ravindernath Sharma's directorial 'Maidaan', starring Ajay Devgn, made Rs 5.50 crore on Saturday, the third day of its release. The total three-day nett domestic collection now stands at Rs 15.60 crore.
'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' had an overall 18.27 per cent Hindi occupancy on Saturday while 'Maidaan' had an overall 19.65 per cent Hindi occupancy on Saturday, as reported by Sacnilk.
For the unversed, 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' has been panned by critics and it looks difficult that the film will be able to recover its reported budget of Rs 350 crore. On the other hand, 'Maidaan' has opened to favourable reviews, but it is fair to say that the reviews have not translated into a respectable box office collection.
Talking about 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan', the Ali Abbas Zafar-directorial also stars Alaya F, Manushi Chillar, Ronit Roy, Sonakshi Sinha, and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
On the other hand, 'Maidaan' has been directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma. The new Hindi film also stars Priyamani and Gajraj Rao. For the unversed, 'Maidaan' is based on the life of Syed Abdul Rahim, who is regarded as the architect of modern Indian football.
