Salman Khan Steps Up To Help People Affected By Assam Floods, Alia Bhatt Voices Concern
Salman Khan has launched a phased relief drive for Assam flood victims, while Alia Bhatt has urged people to support rehabilitation efforts through social media.
Salman Khan has once again stepped forward to support a humanitarian cause. The Bollywood superstar has reportedly launched a relief initiative for people affected by the devastating floods in Assam through his charitable foundation, Being Human. In collaboration with one of his fan clubs in the state, the actor has launched a phased campaign to provide immediate assistance to flood-hit communities. According to a report by India Today, the relief operation has been strategically planned to ensure help reaches those in need in stages.

The first phase is already in motion, with volunteers distributing ready-to-eat meals and other essential supplies across several flood-affected regions.
The campaign is expected to gather further momentum in the coming weeks. Reports suggest that subsequent phases will include the distribution of ration kits, medicines, safe drinking water, sanitary napkins, mosquito repellent sprays, and other everyday essentials. The initiative also reportedly aims to contribute to the restoration of schools and hospitals that have suffered damage from the floods.

On the other hand, Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt has also joined the growing list of public figures speaking out about the devastating flood situation in Assam. Expressing her concern over the widespread destruction, the actress used social media to encourage people to contribute to relief efforts and stand by families affected by the ongoing crisis.
Taking to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, Alia shared a heartfelt message highlighting the severity of the floods. "Right now, floods are affecting so many parts of our country with Assam being among the hardest hit, facing an incredibly challenging time. More than 60 lives have been lost. Lakhs of people have been displaced. Entire families have lost their homes, their land, their livestock... and for some, even the people they love. It happens every year and it still catches us off guard," she wrote.
“Assam needs immediate relief right now, and it'll need support for the long road to recovery. If you've been wondering how you can help, I'll be sharing a few ways we can support relief efforts over the next few days, through organisations working on the ground,” she added.
The northeastern state has once again been hit hard by seasonal floods, with 25 of Assam's 35 districts affected. The disaster has claimed 66 lives so far, including 48 deaths reported from the Sivasagar and Charaideo districts. Authorities continue to grapple with the aftermath, with nearly 5 lakh residents across roughly 400 villages in the two districts still affected. Around 15,000 people have been relocated to relief camps as rescue and rehabilitation efforts continue.
Relief operations are being carried out with support from multiple agencies, including the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force, which have been assisting the state administration in reaching flood-affected areas and helping those stranded.
