The much-awaited trailer for Nitesh Tiwari's 'Ramayana' has finally been unveiled, offering audiences a look at one of Indian cinema's most ambitious mythological spectacles. Released during the auspicious Brahma Muhurat on Thursday morning, the trailer introduces the film's central characters, with Ranbir Kapoor stepping into the role of Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi making her first appearance as Sita. It also teases the monumental clash between Rama and Yash's imposing Ravana.

The trailer opens on a dramatic note, with Ravana arriving at the gates of a royal palace before declaring the dawn of his reign through intimidation and force. His proclamation signals the rise of darkness, prompting fear among rulers and celestial beings alike.
As chaos spreads, Lord Vishnu descends to Earth as Rama, the son of Ayodhya's King Dasharatha, portrayed by Arun Govil. The footage follows Rama's journey as he protects his kingdom from evil forces alongside his devoted brother Lakshman, played by Ravie Dubey. A promise made to Queen Kaikeyi, portrayed by Lara Dutta, eventually sends Rama into a 14-year exile. Refusing to be left behind, Sita chooses to accompany him, laying the emotional foundation for the events that follow.

Lavish recreations of Ayodhya and Lanka dominate the visuals, while the dialogues and emotional moments lend the film a stronger dramatic impact. One notable omission from the trailer is Lord Hanuman. Despite Sunny Deol portraying the beloved deity in the film, the makers have chosen not to reveal him yet. 'Ramayana' chronicles the journey of Lord Rama, regarded as an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, and his battle against the demon king Ravana after the abduction of Sita.

Ahead of the trailer's global launch, producer Namit Malhotra announced a major partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment, calling it a milestone not only for the film but for Indian cinema. In a message shared on Instagram, he described the collaboration as the fulfilment of a long-held dream to present Ramayana on a truly international stage.
The trailer had previously been showcased at the Pratham Sankalp event in New Delhi, where a few clips surfaced online before the official release.
Produced on a grand scale, 'Ramayana: Part One' is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on November 8, coinciding with the Diwali festivities. The second chapter is scheduled to arrive in 2027. Alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash, the ensemble cast includes Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, Arun Govil as King Dasharatha, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman.
