Indian director, producer and actor Rakesh Roshan has been a prominent figure in the Hindi film industry. The veteran star has acted in several Bollywood films during his career. Some of his notable movies include ‘Buniyaad’, ‘Khel Khiladi Ka’, ‘Khoobsurat’, ‘Kaamchor’, and more. He has also directed successful films like ‘Karan Arjun’, ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’, ‘Koi Mil Gaya’, and the ‘Krrish’ series. As a producer, he has been associated with movies like ‘Kaabil’, ‘Kites’, and ‘Koyla’ among others.
Rakesh Roshan’s family has a successful legacy to boast of. But for all those who are unaware of the family and their contributions to the Indian film industry, Rakesh Roshan is all set to release a documentary titled ‘The Roshans’, which will show it all. What’s more? Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan will also be a part of the upcoming documentary.
Recently, Rakesh Roshan took to Instagram and thanked King Khan for his contribution to ‘The Roshans’. He captioned the post, “Thank you Shahrukh for your love, warmth & contribution to

One of the photos showed Rakesh Roshan posing with Shah Rukh Khan, director Shashi Ranjan and others. The other click featured Rakesh Roshan with SRK as they both smiled for the camera.
For the unversed, Rakesh Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan have collaborated for films such as ‘Karan Arjun’, ‘Koyla’, and ‘King Uncle’.
Shashi Ranjan, who is helming the documentary, also took to Instagram Stories and posted a picture with Shah Rukh Khan. In the caption, he wrote, “Shot with Shah Rukh. Absolutely pleasure conversing with him.”
As per reports, ‘The Roshans’ will revolve around acclaimed music director Roshan (Hrithik’s grandfather), Rakesh Roshan (filmography), Rajesh Roshan (music), and Hrithik’s acting career.
The documentary will reportedly follow the family’s path in the industry beginning in 1948, when Roshan moved to Bombay for employment and eventually became the assistant of music composer Khawaja Khurshid Anwar in the 1949 film ‘Singaar’.
A source told Mid-Day, “Few know that Roshanji’s wife, Ira, was a singer and composer. Such little-known anecdotes about the family will be unveiled in the documentary as it traces the journey of each Roshan. And who better to talk about it than Rakesh, Rajesh and Hrithik? They have all contributed in different forms to the film industry.”
Speaking about the upcoming documentary, Rakesh Roshan told the portal, “All I can say is that we are doing a documentary on the Roshans from the year 1948, which begins with my father’s journey, goes through mine and my brother Rajesh’s, and carries on with Hrithik.”
‘The Roshans’ will be developed in the style of ‘The Romantics’, with interviews from friends, co-workers, and family members.
