Preity Zinta shared glimpses from the India vs New Zealand T20 World Cup final in Ahmedabad as she celebrated Team India’s historic win with Akash Ambani and Iulia Vantur.
Bollywood actress Preity Zinta recently shared a video capturing her experience of watching the India vs New Zealand T20 World Cup final live at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Taking to Instagram on Monday, Preity gave fans a glimpse of the electrifying atmosphere at the stadium as she enjoyed the historic match alongside businessman Akash Ambani and model-actress Iulia Vantur. The video offered several moments from the grand evening, including the performances that took place before the match began, the buzzing crowd inside the stadium, and scenes from the pitch after the game concluded.

It also showed the celebratory moments when the Indian team secured the victory. Among the clips, Preity included a photograph of herself as well as a short video featuring her and Iulia Vantur seated next to each other in the stands, clearly enjoying the thrilling encounter.

One segment of the video captured Preity and Akash Ambani cheering enthusiastically as Team India sealed the win. Sharing the clip, the actress expressed her excitement in the caption, writing, “It’s always special to see a World Cup final live in the stadium & be on the winning side. What a game, what a team & what a feeling seeing #TeamIndia win their 3rd ICC Men’s T20 World Cup title.”
She added that the excitement in the stadium was impossible to contain, writing, “Of course none of us could keep calm.”

India’s victory in the final created history in multiple ways. The Men in Blue became the first team to win a T20 World Cup on home soil. They also became the first side to successfully defend the title and the only team to lift the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup trophy three times – previously winning it in 2007 and 2024 before their latest triumph in 2026. In the final match, India posted a massive total of 255 runs, while New Zealand was eventually bowled out for 159.
The historic win sparked celebrations across the country, with several celebrities congratulating the team on social media. Shah Rukh Khan shared a picture of Team India lifting the trophy and wrote, “What a comprehensive victory!! Well done to our men in blue!!! Akshay Kumar also joined the celebrations online. He shared a GIF featuring his dance from his upcoming film ‘Bhoot Bangla’ and wrote, “Har ghar ka maholol. Congratulations on bringing the World Cup home, Team India.”

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Preity Zinta is gearing up to make her return to Bollywood with director Rajkumar Santoshi’s upcoming film ‘Lahore 1947’. The film also stars Sunny Deol, Shabana Azmi, Ali Fazal and Karan Deol.
Preity was last seen sharing screen space with Sunny Deol in ‘Bhaiaji Superhit’, which released in 2018. Apart from that, she also made a brief appearance in the American television series ‘Fresh Off the Boat’, featuring in a small role in one of the episodes.
