Ranbir Kapoor To MS Dhoni: Celebrities Who Attended India Vs England T20 World Cup Semis At Wankhede

The T20 World Cup semi-final between India and England at the Wankhede Stadium turned out to be a star-studded affair as several celebrities marked their attendance for the high-voltage clash.

T20 World Cup semi-final between India and England turned out to be a star-studded affair.

The T20 World Cup 2026 semi-final between India and England proved to be a humdinger at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Men in Blue, captained by Suryakumar Yadav, managed to hold their nerve to win the match by seven runs and progress to the final to set up a contest against New Zealand on March 8 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The high-scoring match was witnessed up close and personal by some of India's biggest names, making it a star-studded affair.

Former India captains Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni were seen in the VIP area of the Wankhede Stadium, and the duo even watched some part of England's innings together. It is worth mentioning that Rohit is the brand ambassador of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Dhoni attended the semi-final with his wife Sakshi, and the latter was seen cheering for Team India. On the other hand, Rohit was seen seated alongside India head coach Gautam Gambhir's wife and ICC chairman Jay Shah.

Ranbir Kapoor, who was last seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'Animal' was also seen seated in the stands with his wife, actress Alia Bhatt and daughter Raha. The cameras captured both Ranbir and Alia cheering and clapping with their daughter every time an Indian batter hit a boundary or a six. They were all seen wearing Team India jerseys.

Ahaan Shetty, who was last seen in 'Border 2', was seen cheering for the team alongside his brother-in-law, KL Rahul. Varun Dhawan and Anil Kapoor were also seen standing together in the stands, and the duo roared loudly when India's victory was sealed by Shivam Dube in the final over.

Apart from Anil Kapoor, Varun, Ahaan, Ranbir and Alia, Triptii Dimri, who was last seen in Vishal Bhardwaj's 'O' Romeo', was also at the venue, wearing a blue jersey and cheering the defending champions.

Akash Ambani, Isha Ambani, Nita Ambani, Shloka Ambani, and Radhika Merchant were also seen sitting alongside Ranbir and Alia in the stands.

 

It is worth mentioning that most of the celebrities touched base in Mumbai earlier on Thursday morning for the wedding festivities of Sachin Tendulkar's son, Arjun, and Saaniya Chandhok.

Speaking of the T20 World Cup semi-final between India and England, India won by 7 runs. The match went down to the final over as England made a match out of it after being asked to chase 254 runs in 20 overs.

Earlier, England won the toss and asked India to bat first. Sanju Samson scored 89, helping India score 253/7 in 20 overs. For England, Jacob Bethell then scored a century; however, he got out in the final over, and India sealed a narrow seven-run win. Sanju Samson was declared the Player of the Match for the second time in a row.
