Investigation is underway against hospital employee who recorded Dharmendra and his family in ICU.

Veteran Bollywood icon Dharmendra has been at the centre of intense concern over the past week, and recently an unsettling video from inside the ICU has added to the family’s anguish. The clip, which went viral on social media, showed the 89-year-old actor lying unconscious on a hospital bed with several emotional family members gathered around him. The footage left fans shocked and disturbed. Initial reports claimed that the hospital employee who recorded the video had been identified, detained, and taken into custody. However, CNN-News18 has now learnt that this is not the case.

According to CNN-News18, neither arrest nor detention has taken place. The staff member responsible for filming Dharmendra and his family has not been taken into custody, though an internal investigation is currently underway.

The leaked video showed Dharmendra lying unresponsive on a Breach Candy Hospital bed, surrounded by his sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. Also present were Sunny’s sons, Karan and Rajveer Deol, visibly shaken, along with Dharmendra’s first wife, Prakash Kaur, seated beside him. The family appeared deeply emotional in the clip, which spread rapidly across social media platforms.

Dharmendra had been admitted after a deterioration in his health and remained under treatment for several days before being discharged on November 12. During his hospital stay, false rumours of his death circulated widely, prompting his wife Hema Malini and daughter Esha Deol to issue statements, confirming he was alive and responding to treatment.

The Deol family released an official statement following his discharge at 7:30 am on Tuesday. It read, “Mr. Dharmendra has been discharged from the hospital and will continue his recovery at home. We kindly request the media and the public to refrain from any further speculation and to respect his and the family’s privacy during this time. We appreciate everyone’s love, prayers, and good wishes for his continued recovery, good health, and long life. Please respect him because he loves you.”

The viral ICU video had earlier been reported by HT City as the reason a hospital employee allegedly faced arrest, though this now appears incorrect. The family, meanwhile, is focused solely on ensuring Dharmendra’s rest and recuperation at home, urging fans and media to allow him privacy after a particularly stressful week.
