Dharmendra Discharged From Hospital, To Continue Treatment At Home
Dharmendra has been discharged from Breach Candy Hospital and will continue recovery at home under medical supervision.
Veteran actor Dharmendra has been discharged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital after reportedly being admitted on October 31 due to complaints of breathlessness. The 89-year-old beloved star, fondly called Bollywood’s ‘He-Man’, is now back home, where his treatment will continue under medical supervision. Early Wednesday morning, an ambulance was spotted leaving the hospital for the actor’s residence.
Confirming the development, Dr Pratit Samdani, who was treating the veteran actor, told NDTV, “Dharmendraji has been discharged from the hospital around 7.30 am. He will be treated at home as the family has decided to give him home treatment.”
Sunny Deol’s team also released a statement sharing an update on Dharmendra’s health and urged everyone to avoid speculating about his condition.
“Mr. Dharmendra has been discharged from the hospital and will continue his recovery at home. We kindly request the media and the public to refrain from any further speculation and to respect his and the family’s privacy during this time,” read the statement.
“We appreciate everyone’s love, prayers, and good wishes for his continued recovery, good health, and long life. Please respect him because he loves you,” read the statement further.
This clarification came after false reports about Dharmendra’s death circulated online on Monday night and Tuesday morning, creating panic among fans.
Esha Deol, the actor’s daughter, quickly debunked the rumours, assuring everyone that her father is “stable and recovering.”
Expressing her frustration over the irresponsible reporting, Dharmendra’s wife Hema Malini took to X (formerly Twitter) to condemn the spread of misinformation.
“What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and is recovering? This is being extremely disrespectful and irresponsible. Please give due respect to the family and its need for privacy,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, Sunny Deol’s team also shared a health update yesterday, stating, “Dharmendra is responding. Family is hoping for a miracle.” Sources revealed that the veteran actor had been on ventilator support since November 10 and was believed to be “critical”.
Throughout his hospital stay, several family members and Bollywood celebrities visited him, including Hema Malini, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, as well as Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Govinda, and Aamir Khan, who came with his girlfriend Gauri Spratt.
Dharmendra, one of Indian cinema’s legends, has graced screens for over six decades with classics like ‘Sholay’, ‘Chupke Chupke’, ‘Dharam Veer’, and ‘Mera Gaon Mera Desh’.
Last seen in ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ (2024) and ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ (2023), he will next appear in Sriram Raghavan’s ‘Ikkis’. Co-starring Agastya Nanda, slated for release on December 25, 2025.
