Veteran actor Dharmendra has reportedly been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai, a week after his previous visit for a medical check-up had stirred health concerns among fans. Several media reports confirmed his hospitalisation on Monday, though the exact details of his condition remain undisclosed. The family has yet to issue an official statement, leading to widespread speculation online. However, close aides maintain that the 89-year-old actor is doing fine and undergoing routine evaluations rather than emergency treatment.

Earlier this month, Dharmendra’s wife, Hema Malini, had reassured reporters about his health when she was spotted at the airport. Fans, worried after news of his earlier hospital visit surfaced, asked about the actor’s wellbeing, to which Hema gestured that he was “okay” and even folded her hands in gratitude to thank well-wishers for their concern.

Sources close to the family later clarified that Dharmendra’s hospital visits were strictly precautionary.

“Yes, Dharmendra is currently at Breach Candy Hospital, but there is absolutely no cause for concern. The actor is in good health and visits the hospital often for routine medical tests, which is the reason for his current stay. It seems that someone spotted him there, which has led to a frenzy among his fans, but there is nothing to be worried about as he is absolutely fine,” the source had shared.

Known for his energetic persona both on and off screen, Dharmendra continues to stay active despite his advancing age. The actor, who will turn 90 this December, has remained a beloved figure in Indian cinema, revered for his work across decades.

Dharmendra was last seen in ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ (2024) alongside Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, where his brief yet memorable appearance earned audience affection. He will next feature in Sriram Raghavan’s war drama ‘Ikkis’, co-starring Agastya Nanda. The film is based on the life of Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra.

While the veteran actor’s hospitalisation has sparked concern, those close to him insist there’s no reason to worry, describing his visit as part of regular medical upkeep. As fans await an official update, messages of love and prayers continue to pour in for the iconic actor, whose resilience and warmth have inspired generations of admirers.
