Nayanthara’s First Look As Ganga From Yash’s ‘Toxic’ Is All About Glamour And Guns
Nayanthara’s powerful first look as Ganga from Yash and Geetu Mohandas’ ‘Toxic’ has been unveiled.
The buzz surrounding Geetu Mohandas’ upcoming directorial, ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown Ups’, has reached a fever pitch. With the latest character reveal featuring ‘Lady Superstar’ Nayanthara, the film continues to solidify its status as one of the most anticipated period gangster dramas in Indian cinema. On December 31, lead star Yash took to social media to unveil the first look of Nayanthara in the role of Ganga. The poster portrays her as a figure of both elegance and lethal intent.
Dressed in a striking black dress with a high slit and thigh-high boots, she can be seen clutching a firearm while walking through a doorway, flanked by guards and attendants.

The makers have described Ganga as a powerhouse – a woman who “owns the room and calls her own shots”. This reveal follows previous well-received character posters for Kiara Advani (as Nadia) and Huma Qureshi (as Elizabeth).
Director Geetu Mohandas, who also co-wrote the film with Yash, shared her experience working with the actress. Geetu Mohandas noted that while she initially intended to showcase Nayanthara in a completely new light, she discovered a natural alignment between the actress’s personality and the “soul” of the character. This collaboration reportedly evolved beyond the professional, with the director finding a "dear friend" in Nayanthara.
The internet's reaction has been overwhelmingly positive, with many fans noting that the film’s promotional updates feel like "festivals." Fans have dubbed Nayanthara the “CEO of Indian Cinema” and expressed excitement for an "intense and honest" gangster film.
Many users pointed out that the posters carry a sophisticated "Hollywood vibe." Filmmaker Vignesh Shivan shared his wife’s poster on Instagram with heart-eyes and "wow" emojis, clearly impressed by the transformation.
‘Toxic’ boasts a massive pan-Indian cast, including: Yash, Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, Tara Sutaria and Akshay Oberoi.
Produced by Venkat K Narayana and Yash under KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, the film is being shot simultaneously in Kannada and English. It will also be dubbed into Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and several other languages.
It will be released in theatres on March 19, 2026, aiming for the long festive weekend of Eid, Ugadi, and Gudi Padwa. Despite the excitement, some fans have expressed concern regarding a potential box-office clash with ‘Dhurandhar 2’ on Eid 2026. Social media analysts have suggested that ‘Toxic’ might need to reconsider its date to maximize its theatrical revenue.
