Ahead of its release, the makers decided to add to the excitement and hype surrounding the film by having icons Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan share the stage with stars like Prabhas and Deepika Padukone at a grand event in Mumbai on Wednesday evening. Amid several interesting conversations, anecdotes, and viral videos, Big B showered love on Kamal Haasan by gifting him the movie’s first ticket.

In a video shared by Vyjayanthi Network on YouTube, Amitabh Bachchan can be seen presenting Kamal Haasan the first ticket of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’.

Check out the video below:

While presenting Kamal Haasan the first ticket of the movie, Amitabh Bachchan said, “I will give it to my colleague, my dear friend, my brother Kamal Haasan.”

As Kamal Haasan expressed gratitude over Big B’s gesture, he also recalled an incident where he had to wait for three works before watching the iconic film ‘Sholay’ featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Amjad Khan, Hema Malini, Jaya Bachchan and Sanjeev Kumar.

Kamal Haasan recalled, “I wish this had happened about four or five decades ago and he had given me the first-day first-show ticket of Sholay. I had to wait for three weeks to see that film. I hope there are many more fans who’d wait for many weeks to see this film like I did for Sholay.”

He added, “I never thought I would be here receiving the first day, first show ticket from Mr Amitabh Bachchan. I was a film technician then, and now I am an actor. Nothing has changed.”

Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone won hearts as she arrived in a stylish black dress. The actress also received much love from her male co-stars who ensured her safety throughout the event. The entire core cast members of the film were present and the event was hosted by Rana Daggubati.

Directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is set to release in cinemas on June 27, 2024.

As per several reports, 'Kalki 2898 AD' is one of the most expensive Indian movies ever made.
