The trailer of 'The Archies' is out! Suhana Khan looks the part as Veronica.

It's finally here! The trailer of Zoya Akhtar's 'The Archies' has been released. For the unversed, this Zoya Akhtar film is based on the famous comics which goes by the same name, and she has decided to bring the iconic characters of Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper and Veronica Lodge to life. With this movie, Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor and Agastya Nanda will all be making their acting debut. This Hindi film will be based in the 1960s, and the story is set against the backdrop of a hill station of Riverdale in India.
The ‘Archies’ trailer shows us how all the kids in the movie are rebels with a cause. In the film, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan's daughter Suhana Khan will be playing the role of Veronica, and she is shown as a spoilt brat, who movies to Riverdale from London.
The things take the turn for the worse after Veronica's father played by Alyy Khan wants to turn Riverdale into a commercial centre. However, people living in the town end up starting a protest.

The cast of the film includes Agastya Nanda as Archie Andrews, Suhana Khan as Veronica Lodge, Khushi Kapoor as Betty Cooper, Mihir Ahuja as Jughead Jones, Vedang Raina as Reggie Mantle, Aditi Saigal (Dot) as Ethel Muggs, and Yuvraj Menda as Dilton Doiley.
The film directed by Zoya Akhtar will be releasing on Netflix on December 7. The new Hindi film has been co-produced by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti.
For the unversed, Farhan Akhtar has written the dialogues for the film.
Speaking about ‘The Archies’ trailer, Director Zoya Akhtar shared, “Having spent a lot of my childhood living in an Archie Comic, I'm thrilled to introduce Riverdale to this generation. The characters are iconic, their teenage life innocent, the world simpler, a time when less was more. Archie Comics, Netflix, Tiger Baby and Graphic India were in complete sync and wanted the adaptation to be as wholesome as the original comic was."
"It’s clean young adult content and was very fresh for Reema and me to work on. It’s also very exciting that a global IP chose the India film industry to make its first feature. Excited to get it out there," she added.
