Actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna have officially had enough of the internet's unsolicited opinions regarding their relationship. Days after facing intense online backlash following their appearance on season 9 of ‘Koffee With Karan’, the couple – who tied the knot in Udaipur on February 26, 2026, in ceremonies honoring both Telugu and Kodava traditions – fired back at trolls with personal and unapologetic social media posts. The controversy erupted when the ‘Ranabaali’ stars discussed their path to marriage on the talk show.

Vijay revealed he told Rashmika to ask him 100 times before he would consider getting married, while Rashmika noted it took a year of conversations to convince him. This prompted an outpouring of online criticism, with content creators posting reels advising Rashmika to walk away and users labelling Vijay a "red flag" who lacked commitment compared to his wife. Old promotional videos from their past films ‘Geetha Govindam’ (2018) and ‘Dear Comrade’ (2019) were even resurfaced to fuel misleading narratives and fake internet edits.
Shutting down the noise, Vijay took to Instagram to share a black-and-white photo of himself embracing Rashmika in a dress. His caption was a blunt declaration of love and a firm dismissal of the critics: “My best friend, my wife, my woman. One of the most beautiful parts of my life that I got absolutely right.” He continued, “For all those concerned, We are both gloriously happy. I am blessed. If its me and her against the world - so be it.” He concluded with a sharp message to the haters: “Big love to all those who celebrate love and the simplicity of living happily. Now, with absolutely no intended kindness or respect, everyone else can go f**k themselves. Deverakonda Vijay Sai.”
Rashmika echoed this defiance in a sweeping, 8-page statement. Alongside the note, she posted a light-hearted, muted video of herself playfully jumping onto Vijay's back at home. Addressing both supporters and the "permanently bitter," she described the backlash as “less like people having opinions and more like an angry mob looking for someone to vent at.”

She addressed the ‘Koffee With Karan’ comments directly, writing, "First, it was never about the number of times or an entire year. That’s where some of you got stuck". She explained that neither was looking for a grand proposal, but rather taking time to understand each other and navigate life's highs and lows to be sure it was the right time. "It’s okay that I knew exactly what I wanted. And it was equally okay that he wanted time to think through the practical things in life and be sure. That didn’t change our love in any way. I am all heart and he is the thinker - and we need that in each other’s lives," she wrote.
Defending her profound affection for Vijay, she added, "And yes, I am OBSESSED with my man. When did that become a bad thing? If I’m not IN LOVE with the man I’m marrying, then why in the world would I marry him?". She proudly stated she would ask to marry him "a thousand times - 100 is nothing. It's really that simple.”
Rashmika also called out the "sweet girls" making reels disguised as concern, offering her free relationship advice to protect her. "But I wish some of you had been there a couple of years ago, when things were really, really hard. You weren’t there. HE WAS and HE IS even right now," she stated.
Highlighting his unwavering support, she detailed, “When I snap a bone, you aren’t there. He is. When my stomach hurts every month, you aren’t there. He is. When I wake up in the middle of the night with anxiety, you aren’t there. He is.” She noted it was "honestly a little creepy" that people would rather believe absolute lies and misleading internet edits than her own words about her happiness.
Furthermore, the actress condemned those bringing her family into the discourse. "B**ch about me all you want. I can take it," she wrote. "But talking about my family without knowing them? That’s not feminism. That’s bullying dressed up as feminism. Feminism was never about putting someone else down or establishing superiority, whether you’re a man or a woman. It was always about having the freedom to choose your own life and taking charge of it.”
Rashmika concluded her extensive note by expressing gratitude to her Kannadiga fans for their decade-long support, declaring, “Ahhh, how lovely it is to know that I’m still so deeply etched in your hearts even after 10 years.”
With both stars making it abundantly clear that they are blissfully happy and building a life on their own terms, it seems the critics have officially been put in their place.
