The dynamic duo, who tied the knot in a dreamy, private ceremony earlier this year, recently visited Thummanpet village in Telangana for a noble cause. The stars were visiting Thummanpet – located in Telangana's Achampet Mandal and notably the village where Vijay’s father was born – to launch a scholarship initiative aimed at supporting meritorious students. During this visit, they celebrated the completion of the first year of this educational drive.
Vijay Deverakonda took to his Instagram account to share a beautiful pair of family pictures featuring Rashmika and his parents. Along with the photos, he penned a heartfelt caption: “Another Good day. Just Wrapped year 1 of Scholarships to 45 schools - 180 students. Look forward to seeing you all again in 2027 June will work towards making it bigger. Lots of love from us all. Your man, Vijay.”
Addressing the attendees at the event, Vijay Deverakonda expressed his deep personal connection to the initiative. He shared, “Giving you this small scholarship gift is very small. But I feel it is important for us. I want to be a part of your lives. Slowly, after my village, I want this move to happen across Telangana. This is my dream. I wanted to celebrate the discipline and focus behind it.”
Furthermore, Vijay Deverakonda also shared the list of the students selected for the scheme, writing, “We are on our way to Thummanpet. The little village where my Father was born. In February, @iamRashmika and I had announced the beginning of a little dream of ours. To reward all the hardworking students of 9th and 10th grade from Achampet Mandal of Telangana. Here is a list of the 180 kids who made their parents proud.”
This heartwarming public appearance comes just months after their highly talked-about wedding. The two actors exchanged vows on February 26 at a picturesque resort near Udaipur. The intimate ceremony was attended only by their families and close friends. Hours after the nuptials, Vijay and Rashmika broke the internet by sharing their very first wedding pictures on Instagram, which quickly went viral.
On the professional front, fans have even more reason to rejoice. Rashmika and Vijay are gearing up to share the big screen once again in the highly anticipated upcoming film, ‘Ranabaali’. This project marks their third cinematic collaboration, following their massive hits ‘Geetha Govindam’ (2018) and ‘Dear Comrade’ (2019).
Most importantly, ‘Ranabaali’ will be their first movie release together since getting married. Helmed by director Rahul Sankrityan, the film is officially scheduled to hit theatres on September 11.
