Prabhas, Deepika Padukone And Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ Passes Monday Test With Flying Colours
Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is showing no signs of slowing down at the box office.
‘Kalki 2898 AD’, starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan and Disha Patani, is continuing with its solid performance at the ticket counters. The Nag Ashwin directorial, which was released in cinemas on June 27, registered a phenomenal hold on its first Monday. And it looks like the new pan-India film will turn out to be a blockbuster of epic proportions at the box office. As per early estimates posted by industry tracker Sacnilk, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ minted Rs 34.60 crore on Monday, the fifth day of its release.
The nett domestic collection of the film now stands at Rs 343.60 crore, across all languages.
Out of this Rs 34.6 crore on Monday, Rs 16.5 crore came from the Hindi version, while the Telugu version contributed Rs 14.5 crore. The Tamil and Malayalam versions contributed Rs 2 crore and Rs 1.3 crore, respectively. The Kannada version also contributed only Rs 0.30 crore, as per Sacnilk.
The Telugu total now stands at Rs 182 crore, while the Hindi version has so far collected Rs 128 crore. It is important to mention that ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is only the third Hindi film of 2024 to breach the Rs 100 crore mark, as per Sacnilk.
Globally, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is nearing the Rs 600 crore mark, and the film will now be looking to breach the Rs 1,000 crore mark by the end of its run. For the unversed, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has been mounted on a reported budget of Rs 600 crore.
For the unversed, Nag Ashwin's sci-fi epic ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is a mix of Hindu mythology set in a dystopian world where some people have made it their mission to save the unborn child of Deepika Padukone’s character. The new pan-India film also features cameos by Vijay Deverakonda, Mrunal Thakur, Dulquer Salmaan, SS Rajamouli and Ram Gopal Varma.
The phenomenal run of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ at the box office has significantly dented the business of movies like ‘Chandu Champion’, ‘Munjya’, ‘Jatt & Juliet 3’, and ‘A Quiet Place: Day One’.
As per Sacnilk, Kartik Aaryan’s ‘Chandu Champion’ minted Rs 0.32 crore on Monday, the 18th day of its release. The nett domestic collection of the film now stands at Rs 58.97 crore.
On the other hand, ‘Munjya’, starring Abhay Verma, Mona Singh and Sharvari Wagh, collected Rs 0.42 crore on Monday, the 25th day of its release. The total nett domestic collection of ‘Munjya’ now stands at Rs 95.32 crore.
Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa's new Punjabi film ‘Jatt & Juliet 3’, which was released in cinemas on Thursday, minted Rs 1.72 crore on Monday, the fifth day of its release. As per Sacnilk, the total five-day nett domestic collection now stands at Rs 18.32 crore.
