Prabhas, Deepika Padukone And Amitabh Bachchan's 'Kalki 2898 AD' Goes Past Rs 700 Crore Worldwide

‘Kalki 2898 AD’ remained steady at the box office on Wednesday, and the film is expected to go past Rs 400 crore today in India.

'Kalki 2898 AD' is expected to go past Rs 400 crore today in India.

After demolishing box office records during its opening weekend, Nag Ashwin's 'Kalki 2898 AD' starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani and Kamal Haasan, seems to have stabilised on weekdays. The science-fiction epic is now nearing the Rs 400 crore mark in India. The new pan-India movie is expected to breach this barrier later today. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, 'Kalki 2898 AD' just witnessed a drop of 14.23 per cent from Tuesday. As per early estimates posted by Sacnilk, 'Kalki 2898 AD' minted Rs 23.20 crore on Wednesday, the seventh day of its release.

The total nett collection, across all languages now stands at Rs 393.40 crore. Out of this Rs 23.20 crore on Tuesday, Rs 11.5 crore came from the Hindi version, while the Telugu version contributed Rs 9.5 crore. The Tamil and Malayalam versions contributed Rs 1 crore each. The Kannada version also contributed only Rs 0.20 crore, as per Sacnilk.

The Telugu total now stands at Rs 202.80 crore, while the Hindi version has so far collected Rs 152.5 crore. It is important to mention that 'Kalki 2898 AD' is trending on similar lines in Hindi as SS Rajamouli’s 'RRR', which released in cinemas in 2022. The Jr NTR and Ram Charan-starrer in Hindi had registered an opening day collection of Rs 20 crore and ended its first week with Rs 132 crore.

For the unversed, this figure of 'RRR' has already been crossed by 'Kalki 2898 AD' in six days (Rs 142 cr). 'RRR' finished its Hindi run at Rs 272 crore, and now it remains to be seen whether 'Kalki 2898 AD' manages to go past this figure or not.

As per the makers, 'Kalki 2898 AD' has now gone past Rs 700 crore in terms of gross worldwide box office collection. Globally, the film has emerged as the most successful Indian film of 2024.

Nag Ashwin's sci-fi epic ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is a mix of Hindu mythology set in a dystopian world where some people have made it their mission to save the unborn child of Deepika Padukone’s character.

The release of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has considerably impacted the progress of other Indian movies such as ‘Chandu Champion’, ‘Munjya’, and ‘Jatt & Juliet 3’.

As per Sacnilk, Kartik Aaryan’s ‘Chandu Champion’ minted Rs 0.40 crore on Wednesday, the 20th day of its release. The nett domestic collection of the film now stands at Rs 59.96 crore.

On the other hand, ‘Munjya’, starring Abhay Verma, Mona Singh and Sharvari Wagh, collected Rs 0.50 crore on Wednesday, the 27th day of its release. The total nett domestic collection of ‘Munjya’ now stands at Rs 96.50 crore.

Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa's new Punjabi film ‘Jatt & Juliet 3’, which was released in cinemas on the same day as 'Kalki 2898 AD', minted Rs 1.50 crore on Wednesday, the 7th day of its release. As per Sacnilk, the total seven-day nett domestic collection now stands at Rs 21.90 crore.
